Dobbs: Should The US Follow Denmark's Example?

An excellent report from the mixed bag that is Lou Dobbs.

Maybe Gwiz can shed some more light on this?

It is never discussed, because the average conservative asshole is absolutely insulted by the mere mention that we might COPY some OTHER COUNTRY'S system, which is obviously far inferior to our own simply due to the fact that it wasn't invented here! Plus they are all socialists/communists/fascists, and their countries are rife with drug use, prostitution, and murder, so you wouldn't want to turn our beautiful land into a festering cesspool like THAT!!!

Morons.

Section 501 of the HR 3962:

Section 501 - Tax on individuals without acceptable health care coverage.

‘‘TAX IMPOSED.—In the case of any individual who does not meet the requirements of subsection (d) at any time during the taxable year, there is hereby imposed a tax equal to 2.5 percent of the excess of the taxpayer’s modified adjusted gross income for the taxable year, over the amount of gross income specified in section 6012(a)(1) with respect to the taxpayer.”

TAX LIMITED TO AVERAGE PREMIUM.
‘‘(A) IN GENERAL.—The tax imposed under subsection (a) with respect to any taxpayer for any taxable year shall not exceed the applicable national average premium for such taxable year.”

The following section of the IRS Code clearly states that the penalty for not paying taxes can result in a fine of $25,000 or up to 1 year in jail.

The above is an example of why I dislike the current system of governance. This effectively forces you to buy health insurance from the corporatist state.

Unless, of course, you think freedom of choice is a jail cell.
