StormsingerCertainly allowing pharma to advertise directly to patients was a serious mistake. Much like allowing lawyers to advertise, it lead to a huge increase in the usage of said product.
But this is a scientology attack video, isn't it? I don't take advice from loonies. Especially not greedy, money-sucking loonies who are attacking other people for blocking some of their potential lootings.
EndAllIt certainly seems like a Scientology video, but I don't think it is. They're not the only ones who have a gripe with Psychiatry.
StormsingerI'm guessing you didn't read my earlier rants on the subject then. -I- have huge gripes with the profession (I refuse to call it a science). But my objections are more to the fact that they don't, and CANNOT, do proper experiments necessary to be a science without transgressing all manner of ethical considerations. Thus, they don't know nearly what they claim to know.
I don't accuse them of conspiracies, or any malicious motives. The only thing worse than psychiatric treatment, is not getting treatment. My wife is schizophrenic, and I wouldn't wish her relapses on my worst enemy...her meds let her avoid a greater terror than you or I could imagine. What pisses me off is that every psych med is a sledgehammer...which is a damned inefficient tool for adjusting such a subtle mechanism as a brain. But again, the only way they'd ever be able to be completely effective would be to do human experiments, and the ethical guidelines (which I -do- agree with) prevent them from doing so effectively.
StormsingerBut a bit of digging reveals this...
According to imdb.com, the production and distribution company was the Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR).
Wikipedia notes "The Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR) is an advocacy group established in 1969 by the Church of Scientology and psychiatrist Thomas Szasz."
Enough said. They're just jealous and trying to kill off what they see as competition, by any means available.
EndAllHmm. I'll leave it sifted, but thanks for uncovering that information - good for people viewing to know.
choggieStormsingers onto some shit there....Pharmy companies still suck the nut, No Matter What!
siftbotMoving this video to EndAll's personal queue. It failed to receive enough votes to get sifted up to the front page within 2 days.
EndAll*beg
siftbotSending this video to Beggar's Canyon to plea for a little attention - beg requested by original submitter EndAll.
deathcowThis seems like a serious problem, but there is a simple once a day pill now which would make it all better.
