It is a brilliant race. I also enjoyed the announcer's offended jibe about the Canadian runner who was "shoved aside." It's obligatory, don'cha know, that at every international sporting event, the Canadians must be offended at least once. As Canadians we demand it.

I guess i never watched racing to know that there even were pacesetters. Very cool vid. I think he should thank the guy he lost to for giving him that extra umph towards the record. I doubt he would've run as hard without him there. I know I always run faster when I'm being chased.

That's an average speed of 16.1 mph. I don't think I'm usually going that fast on my bike, let alone running. Average walking is, what, 3 mph? Sprinting for an average person is maybe 10?

The world record sprinting speed is 26.7 mph.

The world record marathon speed is 12.8 mph.
