The officer didn't believe that he was a quadriplegic because he was arrested for a driving violation. Up until I read more about this video, I thought that a quad was completely paralyzed from the neck down. The cop thought he was faking it.

As someone from Portland, Oregon which is part of the same area. I can tell you that the Hillsboro cops are not to be fucked with. (Not that this guy was fucking with them) What's crazy about this video is that the Hillsboro police train other police forces all over the country! Their swat teams even work with the military to train for domestic raids.

Apparently this is exactly how they do so. Among the classmates I went to school with who went on to become cops (quite a few - the single highest percentage career choice in my school for some reason), the majority of them were the stupid kids, the druggies, the bullies, and in general the derelicts - as long as they are sufficiently large to push people around. Those who couldn't get into college became our next crop of cops. I do believe that speaks for itself.

As for this incident, I trust he will sue the hell out of this department, and I do hope he eliminates some "fat in the budget" by doing so.

Ryjkyj, you're mistaken, this incident occurred in Tampa, FL. (Hillsborough County) which is why the anchor signs off from Tampa Bay News. All 4 officers have been suspended, 3 with administrative leave & 1 has been suspended without pay. The police are now investigating the original stop as well. I respect police officers, but they more than anyone, must embody the law.

I don't know what fucking planet the defenders of authority are from, but what backstory would justify the cop dumping the guy on the ground like that? THESE ARE TRAINED PROFESSIONALS. I understand they have difficult jobs but you can't allow these people to abuse their authority and that shit is absolutely un-fucking acceptable because it's not how a professional police force conducts itself.

The fact that the dumper was black and the dumpee was white is totally irrelevant. We all should be concerned that anyone, anywhere at any time would be treated in such a manner by an authority figure. We should all be outraged that an authority figure would be able to perform such abuses with impunity and the implicit permission of their superiors and make no mistake- this cop's superiors WERE aware of this incident- they just ignored it until forced to confront the situation by the media.
