Comcast subverts Net Neutrality Hearing

"There was huge turnout at today’s public hearing in Boston on the future of the Internet. Hundreds of concerned citizens arrived to speak out on the importance of an open Internet. Many took the day off from work — standing outside in the Boston cold — to see the FCC Commissioners. But when they reach the door, they’re told they couldn’t come in." - source

Is this how a trustworthy corporation behaves?

Gee...aren't mega corporations great?

You know they have a team of people sitting in a conference room all day thinking up ideas on how to NOT serve the public.

"Hey, why don't we spend some of this money and fill the seats so no dissenting voices have a say?"
"Thats a great idea Johnson! when you get home there will be an extra story on your house."

No really, are these the types of companies we want making decisions for us, in regards to the internet?

Public hearings in rooms with limited seating are obviously out-dated. I don't see any way to prevent people from filling seats like this, except to take the hearing to a different format. A full room should never limit the public voice, even if it were full of people who knew why they were there.

Comcast monopolizes in my area... if I cancel, I lose internet access which I use both for personal and business use. Otherwise, I'd dump them immediately.
Gotta love our free market economy. Right? sigh

I still think you should cancel...even if you lose the internet. I know that would mean we wouldn't see you on videosift anymore, but we here at the sift are willing to make that sacrifice.
