Both this video and his/her other sift are from the same youtube account. Both videos submitted here the same day they were published on youtube, this one within an hour of it going up there.

IMO - It is a very strict rule, however if the videos are discarded he should be able to keep his account.

On the one hand, that's the rule, and I don't think it's a good idea to make exceptions.
On the other hand, I don't have a raging hard on to see the guy banned either.
Seems like an honest mistake and he wasn't posting spam.


So, whatever ... let some wiser members than me weigh in on it.

I agree with eric. He apologized and said he'd never do it again after you pointed out his mistake, bt. I don't see the point in making a new account if he plans on staying.

In cases like these we have still banned the self-linking members, and then let the offending member contact the admins with a request for reinstatement. If memory serves, virtually all banned self-linkers have been reinstated once they asked dag or lucky to do so AND promised to sin no more. They are automatically sent out emails informing them how to contact site administrators to request reinstatement, correct?

So I'm going to second the *ban, and then let wonderwizard do the rest of the work from here. No offense dude, but that's just how we do things here.
