theo47says...Man, I love the intertubes. I'd read this interview before, but didn't realize the video was in circulation.
CaveBearsays...Vote this one up to the top so that more people will see it.
gluoniumsays...holy shit
theo47says...You realize, I hope, why absolutely none of this applies to the current conflict?
Because "9/11 changed everything."
Hard to believe that and "they hate us for our freedom" was enough for some dolts to back a war.
Sketchsays...Just goes to show that that evil fucker knows EXACTLY what he's doing. Unlike Bush, he is a genius. If only he'd use his powers for good.
bigbikemansays...I'm stunned.
SaNdMaNsays...Amazing. Truly amazing. There's a ton of vids of politicians flip-flopping on various issues, but this is on a whole other level.
quantumushroomsays...So was Cheney already the "evil mastermind" liberals claim he is in '94 or only after 9-11?
Take your time.
bamdrewsays...This was pre-Halliburton, QM. Halliburton Energy Services made Richard a very wealthy man.
This was also pre-PNAC, back around when Dick thought about running for the Presidency and didn't know the majority of us were, apparently, gullible morons who don't need to know how things really work.
"How many additional dead Americans is Sadam worth? And our answer was 'not very many'." ... I have seen the Devil, and modern science is keeping his son's heart alive and well.
cricket_pagolsays...Cheney being Honest for a change!
pragmaticksays...I am no way a supporter of the war, I am pacifist and couldn't disagree with the american government or any of it's representatives more, but you realize that people and opinions can *change* in 7-13 years? I don't understand why politicians are confronted with what they said a decade ago when most change their agenda more often than their underpants. If there was a video of you guys saying some BS ten years ago you wouldn't want to be confronted with it either. I just don't think this is worth all the buzz.
Structuresays...He doesn't just say "I'd prefer not to invade Iraq", he gives reasons why you should never invade Iraq. He clearly understood the political situation in that region and knew victory was not possible. But Iraq has the 2nd largest oil reserves on earth and there'd be alot less questions about what Haliburton is doing if it's in the middle of a chaotic mess of a war.
Even a traditional war would help hide theft but those don't last long with modern military technology. And the moment there's peacetime, questions are asked and clear-headed investigations are started.
MINKsays...lol QM, you really have to try hard to defend these parasites don't you!
somegeeksays...Damn... upvote for more time at the top.
Sketchsays...Pragmatick, I'd normally agree with you if he hadn't nailed EXACTLY what ended up happening! Everything changed with 9/11 alright, it made everyone stupid and gullible.
choggiesays...The operative word, for what 9/11 did for the situation, is create, not change things, Dick....
Torch81says...I read today, thru Guerrilla News, that this got banned over on YouTube. Viva Videosift!! Similar issues like AT&T and Pearl Jam? What's going on, these are just words and perspectives. Most Americans don't have a proper perspective or education to understand what they are under anyway.
The merging of corporate and government interests is the definition of fascism.
Like this would have been hard to dig up for the big $$ media outlets, they are just here to entertain. Just like the troops, they have a job to do. Blood must be spilled for oil profits, it's not about Iraqi anything. And we could handle the situation if we cracked down, just like Vietnam, we set our own people up for failure and then blame the hippies.
Peace out.
quantumushroomsays...lol QM, you really have to try hard to defend these parasites don't you!
No, I don't have to try hard at all. Usually it's just me showing up that makes the whole lib applecart backflip.
Liberals believe what they want to believe. Non-liberals, while human and capable of error, don't allow themselves the perilous luxury of letting emotions run roughshod over the facts.
The case for war has been explained a million times over...better liberals than those here have tried every trick in the book, including myriad investigations and legal proceedings to prove there was a conspiracy. All have failed.
Bring some hard evidence to the table or tell it to the knuckleheads over at "loose change".
MINKsays...attacking "liberals" is the weakest way to argue your point, man.
You don't need to be in the loose change gang to be dismayed at the amount of money private contractors have made in this useless war, and appalled by the lies told to take us there.
Just show me one piece of evidence that this is all about "bringing democracy to the middle east" ffs, and if it is, show me one area which hasn't been completely incompetently handled.
I know you're burning man, I know it's hard, you believed in this war and you've seen time and time again how your beliefs were based on rich politician's lies, and now you don't know what to do except rant about liberals.
Calm down, have a cup of tea, think about who is profiting in this war, think about the amount of democracy that has been brought to the middle east in a warship and delivered by laser guided missile.
qruelsays...nicely said MINK
