She also made the most asinine argument against legalization that I hear from some people all of the time: that anybody can get it if they really want it.

That maybe be true, in some places, and anybody could get ripped off by a criminal or arrested by a cop in the process, too.

Legalization removes those two very real threats to one's wellbeing.

Yes, Ann, most of us can smoke without the law bearing down upon us. But what about the ones who aren't so lucky? The ones who are ratted out by a jealous ex-girlfriend or the ones who call the cops for help but when the cops find paraphernalia in their house, are subjected to fines and jail time? We legalize things so people don't need to duck and cover and hope for the best.

Ann Coulter's voice is one of her biggest pitfalls. It doesn't matter what she says, it'd sound controversial.

Who knows, maybe it's a Pavlovian response now. Whenever I hear that voice, I hear controversial commentary.
