Cenk Uygur: Why Isn't Wall Street In Jail

Cenk Uygur talked to Rolling Stone's Matt Taibbi about his new article on Wall Street and the revolving door preventing any of them from being prosecuted

I concur by voting for this video though this fellow regularly abuses his internet status of alternative news source with the kind of lazy-minded titillation reserved for tabloids and entertainment news segments.
Wall Street should be burned to the ground in effigy for future generations.

Regulation bodies are always bankrupt of something. Either A) You put outsides in that aren't corrupted insides, but lack any real understanding to make a system that works or B) You install insiders that could make a lean mean regulation machine, but are often times are hired guns passing doom on its competitors. Regulated capitalism is doomed; either massively inefficient and oppressive, or corrupt and conniving.

Corruption is the grease of democracy, and taxocrats are some of the biggest recipients of Wall Street money.

Here's why not to worry about it: when revolutionaries take over, they turn into the exact types they overthrew. It's a constant of history.

Warpublicans aren't much better in recent history.

Perhaps you're both right. We'll need to find some way around this if we can eventually manage to institute real reform. We need to somehow separate the financial system from our political system.

I like Taibbi for his ability to explain this stuff in a broad sense. I read his book "Griftopia", and since I've already done plenty of learning about what all these different financial instruments are, I appreciate his taking the time to provide a decent narrative to it all. Once you have the background info, it doesn't take much evidence before you're convinced of just how hideous these people really are...and just how corrupt the financial/government/corporate system really is.

It also doesn't take long to realize the Democrats and Republicans aren't very different when it comes to the financial world and regulation of banking/finance/etc.
