If any other cats came remotely close to our house, my cat (may she rest in piece ;' ) used to sit on the windowsill and 'talk' at them menacingly - they'd just stare back looking scared and confused.

Directly across the hall from my old apartment was a storage room that the neighborhood cats used as a fckin and fightin playroom. The most astounding gargling, warbling and complex vocalizations would come from there, Not screeching or meowing, but what sounded just like baby talk. The first time i heard it i opened the door thinking some toddler was standing outside babbling!
