blankfistSo, he claims his taser was stuck and that's why he tased her for so long. Um, was his foot stuck in 'kick-her-in-the-butt' mode?
rougyThis taser stuff has really gone overboard.
mkoneI hope she get GAZILLION dollars. Fucking pigs(cops)
MarineGunrockNo such thing as stuck. The probes fire from a detachable cartridge on the front of the gun.
OH MY GOD. Now I got to the part where she complains about medical issues. I've been tazed by that SAME tazer model - no issues. I've done two years of electrical work, and have been shocked more times than I can count. Although I'm not a doctor, I'm calling bullshit on the medical thing.
And now BURN HOLES? Yeah, I don't fucking think so. More like lighter holes. Sounds to me like she's trying to milk it.
But NO. I am not defending the cop's actions.

blankfistI liked this video better when it had "overdose" as a tag.

you know that every human body isn't the same, right? what you said is basically akin to saying, "i can take 2 punches to the face, why can't you?"
the human body will adapt to the ordeals it's put through. by your own admission, your body has been electrocuted multiple times and it doesn't bother you at all. lets say you'd never been electrocuted ever... think you'd feel the same about a 50,000 volt, 20 watt charge hitting you for the first time for a sustained 30 secs or so..?
our bodies develop a tolerance, yes... even to electricity...
MarineGunrockWhoa whoa whoa... I never said it didn't hurt! I whined like a little girl!
However, my entire unit (approx 135 Marines) went through it as part of training for riot control, and none mentioned injuries like she claimed. Also, the pain stops as soon as the tasing does. They would all attest to that.
Though this particular article isn't the end-all be-all, it is written for people who feel victimized by tasers. No where in it does it mention any sort of swelling of the brain or visual impairment.
Again, I'm not saying she deserved it, nor am I defending the LEO. Yeah, she deserves compensation but I think she's milking it.
Also, yes it is 50,000v, but only 1.33 watts, not 20.
blankfistWhen I was in the service we only had to breathe in some tear gas. I guess nowadays with all them high-falluting-gizmos they be coming out with, they need to turn up the sadism just a touch more.
MarineGunrockSadism? No. It's training. They put you through it so you know exactly what happens for yourself. It was the same thing as the O.C. spray(a much more potent and painful version of mace).
It's all so that the user knows what happens, and what a human is capable of under such effects. I thought that people would be glad to know that we don't just dole it out, but we have to take it, too.
8051Why would Marines be going through Riot training against people with Tazers? Could there be a secret plan in the works where the military might have to take over the United States of America and therefore need the training in order to take over all the local police stations?
CONSPIRACY ALERT!!!
MarineGunrockWho ever said anything about Marines fighting against people with tasers?
8051On a serious note, I agree with her. He was no longer a police officer there to protect and serve the public. He's just a guy with a tazer causing great amounts of pain at that point. I don't understand these situations though. Are Police not trained how to talk to people anymore? Are they just social outcasts who are taught that all people are just out to get them so they don't matter?
MarineGunrockSure they're taught how to handle situations. Some are just sadist assholes by nature. ^See video above^
kceaton1I hate to be a party crasher but you can get permanent damage from a taser. This also includes death (depending per person, not per health). Anything in the central nervous system can get damaged; along with muscles that spasm to the point of sprain (more likely), etc...
I still haven't heard "any" reason for the use of this in the current situation.
To protect and serve, remember that...
pho3n1xAlso, yes it is 50,000v, but only 1.33 watts, not 20.

ahh, my bad. honestly I just grabbed a random link via google for average tazer capacity. that's not too bad. still a jolt, but nothing like the NRA approved consumer tazers... that's just amazing... some are up to 30watts, although i'm sure resistance and such prevents much more than 10-15 from being delivered. still... ouch...

yeah, me either. amazing... she's crawling away from him, he kicks her to push her to the ground... she tries to stand up, and clocks her head on the side of the vehicle... and yet he still keeps going... even has a look on his face of, "yeah... i bet you like that, huh?"
what a dick cop... i hope he loses his badge.
MarineGunrockWell, without a doubt he will lose his badge. Just for that you described^. "Yup... uhh huh.. Iiiiii'mm a tasin you..."
RottyThey ought to cut that fat fuckers head off, put it on a stick and plant it in front of the Pig Farm (police station). These assholes are totally out of control.
10874I think the lady is trying to milk the situation for money and that the cop is guilty of police brutality and should be fired and prosecuted, and probably won't.
Basically whenever someone resists the orders of a cop they are supposed to get them under control. This usually involves spraying pepper spray in their eyes or tazing them. Continuing to taze someone like that is torture, though.
Nothing pisses me off more than seeing some cop continually tazing someone. This is nothing compared to that traffic stop video where the lady won't get out of the car. The cop keeps telling her to get out and she won't comply, and he warns her twice he'll taze her if she doesn't. He then discharges the tazer and she immediately opens the door.
Then he starts shocking her continually as she screams in agony (really) and falls out of the car, screaming on the ground.
He didn't have to shock her.
