I dont think adding sound would really impact memory requirements all that much and would very much be useful here...scientifically

Yeah, that blast literally shredded metal off his truck. He was probably occupying the 0.5sq meter of space that was safe. I do wonder what caused it. He clearly saw something happening.

Looked like he was trying to stop the flow at the pump, realized it wasn't stopping and went to remove it from his vehicle when it blew. So he probably knew he wasn't using proper equipment on his vehicle and knew to stop it manually.

I'm gonna bet the metal is what absorbed the blast but it looks like that giant piece of...something...not hitting him is where the real luck is.

I just noticed the attendant was yakking on his cell phone the entire time, AND walked away from the pump while it was filling.
