mentalitysays...This is also the guy who predicted in 1999 that by 2009, we'd have hundreds of 3d computer chips in our house, wearable computers embedded into our clothing, keyboards replaced by speech recognition software, glasses that projected HUDs directly onto our retina, and all our wars will be fought with robots.
Keep that in mind when listening to his prophecies. I feel that reverse-engineering of the human brain by 2029 is like HAL and manned missions to Jupiter by 2001.

I'm not sure if the wiki is accurate though... as it doesn't contain a summary of 2009 and instead include some of the predictions under 2019.
Had to read it for a course in freshman undergrad. I'll have to dig the book up somewhere and check again.
village1diotsays...I have to disagree with him that the speed of technology will continue to grow exponentially. There will be a "speed limit" at some point that we will be unable to surpass.

A worthy addendum.

siftbotsays...Adding video to channels (Talks) - requested by gwiz665.
RedSkysays...I'm freezing myself in a cryonic pod, wake me up when I can exist transiently in the interwebs.
Trancecoachsays...He's definitely not counting on our politicians to slow everything down and even "reverse engineer" human progress.
That's my prediction and I'll be proven correct.
