quantumushroomsays...He obviously didn't save sh*t.
But hey, the taxocrats abandoned free market principles--and freedom--with FDR.
HenningKOsays...I like this Bush. Quieter, penitent. He's no longer ignoring reality.
Ryjkyjsays...Christ he looks old now.
Trancecoachsays...doesn't it make you feel good to know that, even though he allowed the american economy to collapse to almost near ruin (effectively annihilating retirements and purchasing power, in general), that the "system" was saved so that, "future wealth" (in theory) can be preserved?
I mean, it's as if he's saying, "F*ck anyone who isn't wealthy, so long as me and my cronies are heeled. Let the current generation of Americans get their own damn trust fund, like me"
Sniper007says...Hold on a second here... In order to ABANDON something, you at some point in the past have to ESPOUSE it first. Bush knows darn well that he has hated the 'free market' since the first day he set foot in any political office. Case in point, "That is why the President has actively sought to open markets..." ACTIVELY sought to OPEN markets?! Ah, hello? A free market can't be OPENED by the mother effing president. Any economic action he takes whatsoever is by definition using the coercive power of the state to privilege one group of people over another group, also known as LEGAL PLUNDER.
