Brian Williams interviews Ahmadinejad 7/28/2008

Lots of things covered in what is ultimately a pretty short interview, but this sounds rather promising.

Have to keep this speech in mind from two years ago, though.

Petty tyrants are useful ,and the people of Iran mean nothing to those who would use them to set up the scenario they are working....when a message needs sending nowadays, they can do it with out buwwets or pwains....

This type of reporting/interview is cancerous...

America should stick to its constitution and stop meddling in other countries affairs.

The people of Iran rose up against the Shah put there by the Americans. Now America wants to use force and refuses to take part in talks with Iran supported by Russia and China.

Iran is strategically important to America, they have been trying for years to bully their way in there.

The only country with nukes in the middle east is America, by proxy, in Israel.

Decent answers by Ahmadinejad, mediocre translation.

Surely the hypocrisy of the USA's policy on nuclear proliferation has angered some. (i.e., refusing to ratify the test ban treaty while invading Iraq allegedly on suspicion of WMDs) Yes it may be rational self-defense, but it's still hypocritical, and anything that pisses people off has negative side effects on national defense.

Maybe if America bombs the living fucking shit out of his country they'll all end up speaking English, after all, once the funny brown people start speaking English and start wanting Lexus cars we'll all be safe and everything will be ok.

America has NO FUCKING BUSINESS IN IRAN

When he says he doesn't believe nuclear weapons will help him I believe him. Just like when he says he believes there was no holocaust and there are no gays in Iran, I believe him. That of course is to say, I don't believe a word of it and neither should any other sentient being.

And the above is not an advocation for war against Iran, it's a simple condemnation of an anti-semitic propagandist. Fortunately for us all, many of the Iranian youth feel the same way about the fundamentalists leading their country. So much so that Ayatollah Khomeini's grandson calls him a queer and praises the liberation of Iraq. More over, if you live in Iran and wear a beard like the conservatives you are spit on and can't get a cab. War with Iran is a terrible idea, but defending the current leadership is even worse.
