Grimmsays...*promote
siftbotsays...Self promoting this video and sending it back into the queue for one more try; last queued Tuesday, May 27th, 2014 11:03am PDT - promote requested by original submitter Grimm.
Deanosays...Get Patrick Stewart to do this and it will be a hit.
lucky760says...That's funny. I always joked about playing a second-person shooter when I used to play games, but it wasn't like this, which is more second-hand shooter. A real second-person shooter would be you playing from the point of view of another character while still controlling your character elsewhere. Now that would be a hard game to play.
I was disappointed that this video did not provide what I hoped it was promising.
aaronfrsays...Yeah, actually I was expecting it to be a shooter from the perspective of all the characters being killed by the main character.

Grimmsays...This video grabbed my eye because I always wondered why "third-person" was adopted and not "second-person". First-person your view is through the eyes of your avatar. Third-person your view is as if you're standing behind your avatar or from the view of another "person". But why would that other person be the "third-person"?
Paybacksays...The "first person" in "first person shooter" means the narrative mode.
Modes of Narration:
1st person narrative: You're speaking of yourself.
"I walked into the room, and yelled 'BLARGH!' "
2nd person narrative: You're speaking of the person you are speaking to.
"You walked into the room, and yelled 'BLARGH!' "
3rd person narrative: You are speaking of a third person.
"He walked into the room, and yelled 'BLARGH!' "
GTA's "flyby" cinematic camera comes to mind as an example of 2nd person mode.

Paybacksays...I've always felt "fourth-person" was another way of saying "hearsay".
someone1says...Watch, in time, gaming will be dumbed down enough by the "we need to reach everyone" crowd, that a game like this will sell as a AAA title.
