Bjork on Green TV

from poster's vid description (Vimeo):

Icelandic artist Björk talks to Green TV about her concerns as Iceland continues to sacrifice its environment for the sake of industry.

Ok, so apart from the smelting plants being unsightly, and requiring even more unsightly pipes.....with the power to run these coming from green sources, how are they an environment disaster waiting to happen ?

Nothing that was said in this video conveys that I should even lift a finger of concern about the plants..

Downvote becuase of nutjob green activists attacking a great green power based buisness. Makes it even worse when you see her in the same video playing a gig on an aluminium rigged stage with aluminum walkways.

I know. Since when did "promoting awareness" and voicing one's opinion make someone a nutjob? I guess she should just stfu since she is a female w/ an opinion, eh?

charliemsays...

What are you smoking ?
All im sayin is that the plant, as portrayed in this video, is already a green plant.

How is it an envionmental hazzard ?
Someone, explain it...cause this video didnt. Just some inane crap about how the planets population is taking its resources for granted.....well duh....now tell me how the plant is bad ?

Issykittysays...

^Uh, I don't smoke. By the way, it doesn't say that "This video explains that factories are completely evil and bad and are destroying the universe." If it did say that, then that would of course be misleading. I simply submitted this because I like Bjork and thought it was a cool thing she was doing to promote environmental awareness in her native country. How you are reading any more into that is beyond me, spaz. LOL

charliem, according to the video, she is 'highlighting the threat of expanding heavy industry to the beauty of her native country.' It sounds like she wants to keep her country beautiful and free from the blight of concrete, smoke, noise, traffic and other types of pollution that factories generally create (be they green or not). Seems pretty clear to me. Not sure what your problem is. Oh, and 'Blue Dream'.

Right, and so shes willing to forgo everything else that heavy industry brings into her life ? Her car, her house, her water supply, internet access, tv, radio, movies.....I mean the list gos on. You cant have it both ways, the plant is a visual blight, boo hoo...its green, and it makes our lives possible.

My issue is bjork coming off trying to sound like some kind of pseudo intellectual, trying to tell us that the country is destroying the environment....by giving a green example.

"Take without thinking about the consequences"
Yes bjork...its why its a plant powered by renewables.
