Canada had a woman prime minister, albeit for only a short time. The U.K. did as well. Regardless of the fact that Obama is black, he is a man, and thus 50% of your population has never been represented by your democracy in it's main leadership role, unlike other 1st world democracies. I usually like Bill. Well, pretty much all the time. However, I never envy America, I've been there, and there are plenty of systemic problems with the system, cities, and people that live in them that have no chance of being resolved in this or the next few lifetimes to come. I don't care if Bill was being sarcastic, either.

I'm Canadian, and I'm PROUD to finally have a boring Prime Minister. All the exciting ones fuck things up.

I'm Canadian and I'm GLAD we elected a Prime Minister who's just a patsy for the President of the United States. Finally we'll have someone intelligent (Obama) controlling our country.

But aside from politics, I really liked this clip. A lot of Bill Maher jokes are just obvious and/or sex-related, and it get's boring after a while. This clip, though, I liked because he's finally standing up and is happy with the way things have gone and saying so. That takes balls, and though he's been saying his mind this whole time, this is the first time (that I can recall) that he said he was happy with something that happened. Hooray for our neighbours in the South. I feel like it's finally possible that my generation (25 - 35 year olds right now) may in our lifetimes be able to say that we are neighbours with the States without feeling embarassed.

And I mean that as quite a large compliment. There are very few Canadians that I know that hold the States in any sort of high esteem. I congratulate you on working to change that.
