Bill Bryson: The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid

Bill Bryson reads from his memoir, and some fine youtuber animates appropriately schizoid images for the background.
This book is a memoir of his childhood in the 1950s, and his obsession with super heroes during that time period.

I love Bill Bryson. I recommend almost everything he's ever written: Notes from a Small Island, Neither Here Nor There, I'm a Stranger Here Myself, In a Sunburned Country (I would love to know what our Aussies think of that one), Mother Tongue, A Short History of Nearly Everything. Bill Bryson reading his own books is one of the few things my son and I can agree upon as entertainment for long car trips.

Clearly I need to read more of his books. I have only read Short History so far.

Love Bryson. "A Walk in the Woods" is another classic of his.

Also, if you like Bryson, you might like Tony Horwitz. "One for the Road" is his Australian adventure. "Bagdad without a Map", "Confederates in the Attic" and "Blue Horizons" are all highly recommended.
