Because I couldn't take it out after I put it in and changed my mind. My original reasoning was that they were discussing the physiology of lactation in some parts, but when I decided that this wasn't enough to justify it, editing didn't give me the option to remove it. I knew we couldn't switch a video from one collective to another, but didn't realize we couldn't simply remove a video from a collective completely.

Now I do. Bugger.

Removing from collectives should be allowed, I am a member of god knows how many, I can foresee drunken accidents occuring.

This feature is on our todo list, however, the submitter will not be allowed to remove it; the collective owner and possibly vote leader will have the ability to remove videos.

It will be implemented in the coming days and a ST post will announce it.

I swear I was not drunk last night. However, I can't promise to stay sober every night.

But would allowing someone to yank a video from a collective, even if it wasn't switched elsewhere, be a real problem? Or would the removal of the collective assignment have as little impact on the collective than the video simply being discarded for lack of votes?

(Which, BTW, I plan to do once this blog discussion is over. Discarding and re-submitting seems to be the simplest solution within my power for now.)

The result of removing a video from a collective is potentially a negative impact on rank and lower overall standing with regard to video and vote count.
