cybrbeastsays...As a Dutchman it's kinda funny to see this video. I hardly ever think about how rare bicycles are in some other cities.
But damn those tourists on bicycles, they usually can't cycle for shit
BoneyDsays...This sounds like a really great system, but i'm curious how this works for people who live many miles away from the city (I live about 30 minutes drive from my CBD). For example, would the train system be improved to allow people to take their bikes onboard, to cover the larger parts of the trip? Or would this trend be mainly seen in people who live close to town?
wazantsays...Here in Copenhagen, the situation is rather similar. I am not sure about Holland, but here it is possible to take your bicycle with you on the trains if you buy the right ticket. I used to do that to get to work sometimes. You can't take your bike on the buses though.
cybrbeastsays...The public transport system is pretty good. You can take your bike on a train but people don't usually do this. If they commute they usually just buy an extra bike and put it at the other train station.
Also there are still a lot of people who drive to their work. But most of the city traffic is bikes.
don_vicentesays...It is funny indeed to see this as a dutchman. But I agree there are still a lot of people how drive to their work
rbarsays...We have a national bike and windmill day? I wonder how many tourist will come back for that after biking the 20 km to the next windmill from Amsterdam.
