Alan once again goes to bat for Melissa, this time with much less confidence, who is in serious trouble with the IRS.
If you've never seen the show, do yourself a favor and check out Shatner and Spader at their finest.
NTBsays...Great show that covers current events, keep them coming Dr.
flyersays...A little hammy, and it could never, ever happen in a real courtroom, but the heart is in the right place.
About one of the aspects of his speech to the jury, the lack of trials or even the right to face their accusers, listen to this:

theo47says...Those are closing arguments, flyer - council can pretty much say whatever they want.
flyersays...No doubt. I'm saying that these speeches would never be heard outside TV Land. They are too precious and stagey, juries are more jaded looking, the judge wouldn't take counsel's sitting in the witness chair and let the attorney talk over him, etc.
The prosecuting attorney wouldn't be so neocon, and the defense attorney would give a long antiwar, anti-Bush rant--both are too polarizing for a mixed jury. Defense was enjoyable and cathartic for me, but totally made for TV.
It's great to see some actual truth on network TV though.

I believe this video is busted, at least it is for me. Is this a legacy GV embed problem. I noticed it when the thumbnail preview at bottom of page was busted. can someone fix?

dotdudesays...Clicking on the “to Google Video” button took me to Google Video's home page. Normally it would take me to the video or the message that the video is no longer available.
