Airbus Buzzes Weather Ballon at 38,000 Feet

70 minutes into its 3.5 hour high altitude balloon (weather balloon) flight the ballon experienced an extremely close flyby over Newark, NY (**not New Jersey**) from an Airbus A319 operated by Delta Air Lines (Flight #159) which was en-route from Boston, MA to Detroit, MI.

The aircraft was flying just over the ballon payload at 38,000 FT.

This is pretty awesome because you rarely get to hear what a commercial airliner actually sounds like flying by at 400+ mph seven miles up.

Even with a tiny little camera microphone it sounded badass.
