MycroftHomlzsays...How does this not have any votes yet...
bleedingsnowmansays...^ Everyone's too angry to sift.
Arsenault185says...Not necessarily. That just means 9 out of 10 do. I wonder if there are any statistics on this... well thats a shitastic ad. Heres why:
The ad is targeting opponents of same sex adoption. Particularly those whose argument is that "gay parents make gay kids." Thats all well and good, however, they did a poor job of supporting their argument.
The scene depicts a young adult "coming out" to his parents. The set up leads one to believe he is about to tell his parents hes gay. But when he says "I'm straight," his gay fathers look like they are shocked, leading viewers to believe that they raised him to be gay, and that for a kid of gay parents to not be gay is abnormal, the same way the target audience thinks that it is abnormal for a child of straight parents to be gay.
Then to tell me that "children raised by homosexuals do not necessarily become homosexuals. Man, that sounds like a last ditch effort to convince people to me!
Arsenault185says...P.S. downvote for a bad PSA. That downvote has nothing to do with anyones stance on gay rights, homosexuality / whatever.
dgandhisays...The PSA is bad. The stats are that gay couples raise straight kids just as often as straight couples, using "not necessarily" just makes the case sound worse then it is.
smibbosays...I think its funny. Like parody.
