gorillamansays...More here. All pretty impressive, but now I want to play these games!
choggiesays...wanna be in those games...
antsays...This reminds me of Combat game on Atari 2600.
NordlichReitersays...Woah ... grr i had to take a whole class on AI for gaming. And the stuff we went over was crap compared to what i just saw.
Pathfinding is a problem in gaming that is no more, and is the solutions get better and better all the time.
yaroslavvbsays...I wonder if such a processor would be useful for AI. Real life applications of AI like the system used by banks to recognize checks use general purpose computers (http://yann.lecun.com/). They did mention that this processor has dedicated path-finding built in, but with modified Dijkstra algorithm, you can find shortest path to every point in the graph in O(V lg V) time where v is the number of possible locations. This is as fast as sorting, and we don't see people proposing specialized chips for sorting.
siftbotsays...Tags changed from "ai, smulation, armies, blocks, tanks" to "ai, simulation, armies, blocks, tanks" by gold star member pho3n1x.
