deathcowsays...If you flattened everything into 2 dimensional disks, yes. But three dimensionally the planets get quite above and below each other which makes planetary transits much more uncommon.
deathcowsays...p.s. probably the most exciting transit of all time would have been when Mars passed across the face of Jupiter hundreds of years ago. It would have required modern telescopes to really have fun with it though.
