I'm very conflicted by this thing. I support the message, but I cringe at the stereotypes. I know he's not an Indian, but I think he was a big supporter of Indians (I might be wrong, haven't read up on it in a while). I don't know, man, I just don't know.

And on top of that I am forever referencing this PSA in casual conversation and nobody ever gets the joke. Sigh. No one understands me.

They guy wasn't an indian (he was italian), but he married one, adopted two indian children, and was a big comapaigner for indian causes. From my point of view, I don't care about his dna: he's an indian.

i was looking for a video, for this tune, and one of 'em featured this PSA, in the clip.

nowadays, this *commercial would probably be considered a fairly *obscure reference.
it was anything but, when i was growing up. still one of the most successful psa's ever.
