This reminds me of an old black and white '50s educational film I saw a long time ago.

A park ranger, assigned to care for one of the giant caves in a National Park, demonstrates for the camera how stalactites make tones when struck. He takes a hammer and starts hitting different stalactites and most of them respond by breaking.

I know the feeling, bro. My son reads 'Ranger Rick' magazine, and even though he can easily spend hours on end on his PC because he's a little geek, he agreed with me when I quoted Ranger Richard: "Less screen time, more green time."

I've been making an effort to be more productive and sociable, which means cutting back on a nets a bit. I've even spent a little time in the out of doors, and boy does that sun burn bright on my internet vampire skin.

S.O.B. i knew i would write something that would come back to bite me in the ass..the internets and making people look like asses one at a time.. thanks EDD for the reality check that everyone has beliefs...George Carlin said it the best; he was catholic till the age of reason... which i follow the same path being that Catholicism to me seems bat-shit crazy..being that i was manipulated for 8 years from K-7th..So i understand the evils of organized religion oh and no i was not an alter boy it cut into my power rangers in the morning one had to give....In reference to what i am getting from this thread is there is no God and this is all just one big cosmic coincidence? Now how much belief does that take? That Walker Texas Ranger vid was pretty funny.

That's the camera I have. It's a decent camera (exception being the lens). I, too, was always in a rush; it seems to be the nature of this industry except for filmmakers like Terrence Malick. Shooting in LA is no picnic when you are shooting with no budget. We were always fearful of being run off by the cops for not shooting with a permit, and at one point we did get kicked out of a public park by the rangers.

Dodging them kept exterior production running at a snail's pace, and at times scenes that should've taken two hours to complete turned out to be up to five hours or so, because we constantly had to hide the cameras and equipment when the rangers or police came around. And those scenes turned out to be some of the ones I dislike the most about my flick.

You'll never see my film! Bwahawhaw! No, it's still in sound mix. Has been for a long, long time. Once it's out, I still have to get it color timed and converted to progressive 24 HDCAM tape, etc. etc.

Amazing, suddenly I've become mighty suspicious of the circumstances that allowed my poor ranger to end up ugly, armless, and well nigh without a face.

I would probably end up staying for the entire rant and replacing my old dice as well. Sad, but true.
