Oh Sh*t!
I have never heard of a head-on motorbike collision. To this moment I still have not.

Oh boy, now I can finally crash my motorbike and not worry about my head...
TRANSFORMER Bicycle
Just ban anything with <4 wheels from the road. Bikes and motorbikes completely ruin my driving experience - the second I know one is near me I have to continually check it's position and worry about it. And they all ridden by idiots - no you shouldn't pedal along my inside then stop in front of me at traffic lights, I do 0-60 in the time it takes you to stop wobbling. And no you shouldn't whizz through the inside on the motor/freeway, go on the outside like every other vehicle has too.
My issue is as soon as somebody has two wheels they think the rules apply differently to them - but the minute they get hit the car/van/truck driver is too blame.
Robot Sheep Shearing.
Hasn't anyone here seen "A Close Shave" -- the Aardman masterpiece featuring a large-scale motorbike rescue of sheep from just such a robot shearer???
I can find no clips but here's a trailer:

Long Way Round trailer
This is an excellent series. I saw it recently, after watching a similar doco last year,'On the Trail of Genghis Khan', by an Australian who rode from Mongolia to Hungary on a horse. Both fascinating, yet very different. The motorbike trek took 3 months, the horse trek took three years. Ewan and his friend Charlie had huge amounts of expensive equipment and a support crew. Tim had three horses, a tent, a dog and a satelite phone. Each had their own unique set of problems. All of them were pushed to new limits. Excellent stuff.

Motorcycle vs. Transformers
The problem with inventions like this is there has to be a practical application that facilitates the design. Other than making a motorbike more dangerous, I don't see the point other than the look-strange-factor. I can only imagine going into a speed-wobble on that thing at 100kmph with no way to stabilize yourself.
POV of Motorcycle Versus Deer at 85 MPH
@Skeeve - i don't want to turn this into a point by point, but i have several things to reply;

Firstly, i know plenty about motorbikes, do not presume that you automatically know more than everyone around you - motorbike knowledge is unimportant in thise case however as the connection was IN YOUR HEAD, not in his comment and therein lies the bullshittery. You superimposed YOUR opinion/meaning over his own words and then insulted him based on that. Please at least consider what i am saying carefully before you refute this, because it's undeniable. You made the connection, not him. He simply wished that the guy's bike was broken.
Secondly, i am not american.
The size of the speed limit is not necessarily the factor that makes what he was doing dangerous, whether it is 70 or 85, i believe this is unimportant. What is important is that we all agree to a speed limit. Other (more sensible) road users get accustomed to distances, reaction times, things like that and when people disregard the speed limit, it affects other road users. If i pull out of a junction or cross a street in front of a car travelling at 30mph, it's safe. If that car is travelling at 55 because he's "a good driver, in control of his vehicle", well now we have an accident, and i can hardly be blamed for assuming his speed to be the legally set 30mph or lower
I'll bow out of this now, i've made my point, i think anything more will just be rubbing it in. I felt someone had to stand up for the poor guy who basically got accused of something he never did and insulted for it.

Not at all.
It is Ewan MacGregor and his friend going around the world on motorbikes. Of course there is a camera crew so they aren't all alone, but it is rough and tumble. Sleeping outdoors in Siberia, if memory serves. Getting miffed at each other, for real, since they are such good pals. Meeting extraordinary people. Then hopping on their bikes and heading out!
