A chunk of the fourth episode of "Long Way Round", a reality show following actors Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman as they travel around the world on touring motorcycles. To skip to the incredible ecological warning that is the dried-up Aral Sea (boats on the desert), jump to 7:25 or so.

Is it anything like Michael Palin's specials?

It was a great series, as was Long Way Down, where they ride from John'O Groats, Scotland, to Cape Town. I was surprised that they persisted with the loaded-up BMWs in the second series, though. The bikes were totally unsuitable for sandy/muddy conditions-way too heavy.
