There used to be more here but we all lost so much on 3/11.

I am a pillar of Sift, but unsung, since I make too many comments that are cryptic and baffling and not enough that are zesty and sexy. I submit an awful lot of music, much of which takes a year to get sifted, because you are all philistines.

Ha ha! Yeah, I guess there was, but we didn't call it that. My uncle either couldn't or didn't tell anybody he was coming home, and just showed up on the doorstep one morning. I think it was that very night when my grandfolks cleared out the garage.
I was just a kid, and I remember the night was pitch black and the only light you could see was the glow from out the garage door, and from there the music, the laughter, the food, the smell of beer.
What a hoot.

Was there a hootenanny in the garage that night?

That song reminds me of camp fires.
It reminds me of my grandpa's garage on the Saturday my uncle Chuck got home from Vietnam.
It reminds me of brick-wall alleys on a fall day, kicking leaves as I walked.
Thanks, fixed it!

I was diggin' this song today, and immediatly thought you might enjoy it. I think it somehow reminded me of that shot tower song.

This is one the great songs of my childhood. Growing up, my sister and I had it a bit rough, but we always had our Irish folk songs tapes. She and I would act out all the verses to this song, and then do a little arm in arm jig during the chorus. When I picked up the guitar a few years ago, this was one of the first songs I learned. I can't believe someone Sifted it. You've made my weekend, sir.
