On November 29, 2020 a terrible accident occurred in Formula 1. Romain Grosjean 34 years old hit the safety barriers and got stuck in his F1 on fire for 27+ long seconds. Thanks to incredible composure and the technology improving the safety of motor racing, he was only slightly injured.

It's funny that Grosjean was a staunch critic of the Halo device that ended up saving him from likely being torn in half. He has since changed his mind

"I wasn’t for the halo some years ago, but I think it’s the greatest thing that we brought to Formula One, and without it I wouldn’t be able to speak to you today." - Grosjean

I remember the first time I saw him climbing out of the fire and all I could think of was The Terminator. The sound on Eric's video is even reminiscent of it.

Incredibly scary stuff, balanced only by the astounding engineering that kept him alive.

Wow, that was unbelievable.

I thought there was no way the driver would've survived that inferno.

Yikes, and thank goodness.
