considering your "goodbye" in my blog, none of your attitude surprises me nor makes me want to come back. Yall have fun.

Wow, hey, it was a simple light-hearted comment saying that I was amaze to see you back, because you looked pretty pissed when you left. I was expecting a "well, I cooled down a bit. How have you been" kind of a response. But no, instead I get that filth. So fuck you and good riddance.
In reply to this comment by smibbo:
oooo! you sure smacked me down. Said I was done. Its a website, sparky, I am free to come and look at it any time I want. Although, I guess my suspicions about the elite crew might be true? After all, with a response like yours, I just can't wait to come back and bang my head against the brick wall of the "chosen few" clubhouse wall some more. Uh, thanks but no thanks.
I got notification that my favoritest video had a comment, I looked and saw there was a dupe. So I took 30 seconds out of my life to do the right thing. Big fucking deal.

not normally, no, but when I get a migraine, heck yeah. I was confused this time around becuase it didn't hurt as much as before and I wasn't photosensitive as much as before either, but soupskin and I decided not to risk it and I went to the ER earlier than I usually do (second day of symptoms rather than third or fourth) so I guess we nipped it early on and I came home quicker. I'm used to being pretty much over it by the time I get back from the hospital but this time I'm home before its done. My mistake lol

In reply to this comment by swampgirl:
Oh poor thing, I'm glad you're doing better. My husband had it 3 times back in the 90s. I blamed hot steamy mosquito infested Charleston, SC for it.
Are you very photosensitive?

THANK YOU!!
Soupskin and I rented that because it is Cronenberg and we were so stoked to watch it.... what a HUGE disappointment!! We both felt EXACTLY as you did about it.... "WTF? that's IT?! he's... actually a killer after all... that's it.... thats the great Cronenberg movie they were raving about... HUH?"
THank you. Absolutely agree on that one. Totally.

A History of Violence.
By far the dumbest, stupidest, wholly unsatisfactory movie I have seen in the last couple of years. Crap movies are okay, you know they are crap, I know they are crap but at least we can sit back and laugh at them.
However a History of Violence was marked by masturbatory levels of press coverage, citing that it dared to be different and cover violence in new and surprising ways. What a crock of shit that was, I was more disgusted by the sheer adulation lauded on the film by critics, I wondered if they and I watched the same damn movie. All I saw was some poorly constructed 'man-living-another-life' story, that somehow leads him to kill a bunch of people and then kill a bunch more and turns out he was actually what he was. Oh wow!
Its telling that years later the movie still pisses me off.

Smibbo, if you want a non-funny, Coen brothers like movie, I recommend Jim Jarmusch.

Actually, I love Blood Simple and Fargo. Miller's Crossing - not so much.
I ADORE Jim Jarmusch!! The difference? His movies may not have "meaning" either, but they do not set up intense emotional interplay that makes me NEED "meaning". His movies are thematic and I am fine with that, because he doesn't pretend otherwise and doesn't lead me to believe otherwise. And he's funny no matter what. I think he does "subtle" humor better than Coen Bros do. When they TRY to be funny they are hilarious. When they try to be subtle, it usually ticks me off. Go figure.

well it's better than watching tv, eh? Frankly I've never regretted getting rid of my TV and starting a DVD collection and playing MMO - with TV people sit and stare silently; with MMOs at least you talk to other people!
In reply to this comment by Fedquip:
Dont tell anybody, but I bought the lord of the rings mmo, I actually didnt know it was a mmo when I bought it and in fact had never played an mmo before. Otherwise I was hooked with the concept and the graphics and played it for a couple of months before realizing I was losing valuable hours of my life.

yep, hormones; pregnancy is full of them for good and for ill!
Tell her I totally feel her "pain" and she's absolutely not alone. I cried to commercials when I was pregnant before! Thank gahd we don't have TV anymore, might not have made it through this pregnancy without wanting to commit hari-kiri!
In reply to this comment by gorgonheap:
My wife has a hard time listening to Christmas music too. Must be a pregnancy thing. She'll be singing along all happy like and then she's sobbing uncontrollably.

I understand what you are saying and its academic; average persons (especially less versed in science and more likely to be cynical of global warming claims) hear "satellite pictures" and think camera recording actual "as seen by the naked eye" images. By using a barely technical definition of "image" and "photograph" you subvert the suspension of disbelief and invite nit-picky criticism which undermine the base argument of global warming claims. That's all I am saying.
In reply to this comment by bamdrew:
Hey, so stumbled on your comments in reply to my comments, and I'll just stick one point in there...
This footage is very much a video composed of satellite images.
A still image is data. It is photons of a certain wavelength being recorded at a certain time from a certain location/direction. What they recorded with their satellite were images shot by a camera that records a specific spectrum of light, just not the spectrum we see. Each day of these pictures was pasted onto a model of a globe (with land masses, etc), and each of those globe-days were then played in sequence to show, in a meaningful way, what that camera had taken pictures of.
Its not simulated in the sense that there is added data based on calculations, the image is simulated in the sense that data from the images is pasted onto a model of a globe to illustrate the changes with respect to landmasses and everything (the satellite wasn't suspended out there and snapping only the video's angle). Its all 'data' exactly like the data recorded with a consumer digital camera (which is usually filtered and responsive to the electromagnetic spectrum between 380 and 800nm, whereas their camera captured microwaves with wavelengths somewhere around 1mm to 1cm). Nothing sinister going on here!
In reply to this comment by smibbo:
it is especially hurtful in respect to the whole global warming argument: show doubters footage like this while telling them it's "satellite video" will immediately lose points because it's clearly NOT a video. By being misleading you hurt the base supposition. Fence-sitters and the unconvinced will feel insulted and even MORE unconvinced. I too am astounded that people still want to deny global warming's dangers and it's things like this that make it harder to get people to open their eyes.
