Grateful Kid Gets Xbox 360 And Halo

you only play online if you subscribe to gold, and odds are they're not going to do that.
Besides, it's up to the parents to decide that. I was playing Tenchu when I was like 10/11, and that's one of the goriest videogames of the era, and (As far as you're all concerned) i'm not a mass murderer.
Now.. as for getting a PC, there's a lot less for a kid his age to do on a PC really. There's games for like 3-10 year olds, and then games for 16+ year olds, but not a lot in between. A console is a great starter platform for any gamer of any age. Complete content control by the parents, it's got a built in feature that you can set to only allow your kids to play X-amount of time a day, and, for the most part, they've got a lot more kid friendly games (Viva pinata, Marvel games, all the lego games etc.)
This kid.. Seeing him warms my heart. That's one appreciative little guy. and from the sounds of it, he's earned it. Sounds like he's had some hospital trouble in the past, and who knows, maybe that's why he's so concerned they bought it, because they probably had to pay medical expenses in the past and he'd know how much it would cost. Power to the kid, Enjoy it

surly he is to young to be playing a game that involves blowing the shit out of everything and swearing at people online?
also although im sure an x box is gr8 fun he would have done so better having a pc, that way he can play games but also learn with it and not just have his brain fall out.

I started on an Atari and c64 when i was under 10 years old , from 13 i had a pc , maby if i had had a game console i would have lernt far less .

on pc there are a plithora of games that fit all age ranges plenty of very good games , the only stuff a console has for games over pc are third person platform/ shooter games / arcade racing games.

consoles are really good in terms of shove it on and it works , but it wont really contribute to making you understand things better.

It would be interesting if you had a non brain washed kid and had a Pc and 360/ps3 infront of them for cuple of years which one they would use the most .

I think a console is good to have if you already have a pc , but if you only had to have one id have a pc every time.

Its far more enjoyable watching videos, making music , making games , making art , editing photographs , playing casual games , playing flahs games , playing hl games , playing driving , flight sims.

than grinding through the majorty of console games that are for the most part recycled garbage.
dont get me wrong plenty of good console games out there that are not on pc , i just think the lack of bing able to be creative and only play games on it.

Where did they learn that drama?
Am I the only one disturbed by the fact
That every present was at the same time
A gift to that floating orb in the background?

The hell you talking about? He WAS HAPPY to get the first two presents too. THEY WERE BOOKS.

Your humor is subtle, and inscrutable (irredeemable).

We'll be fast friends.

Cheers.

(did you buy it? Instead of, you know, the last time)

every 14 year old who plays Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on their Xbox 360 should have to watch this video

that's bullshit. smart people will realize the true horrors of war whether they watch this video or not and whether they play COD or not. I just finished MW2 yesterday, and I had fun shooting fake soldiers. Doesn't mean I think its easy to do, or that it should be done in RL.

Sure, but it doesn't hurt to have reality reinforced, right? It seems like something that a parent should do. Or at least it seems to me that this should be the case and will be something I do when I'm a parent. I'm not talking about overbearing pushing of reality, but just a reminder that world of 1's and 0's is rarely a true reflection of life.

Wow, reading these comments before watching the vid, I thought there was going to be some heavy shit in that video. Turns out it was just an older brother messing with his younger brother for youtube kicks. I'm not condoning it, as the last of five brothers I can tell you every younger brother in history has dealt with far worse than that daily.

Well it depends on your definition of worse. To be honest I think actual pranks and the such are far LESS worse than things like this. My older siblings during one little stint lead me to be impaled through the top of a pointy ornament that went right through the side of my body, later finding out it barely missed vital organs, we slapped two band-aids on each side and that was it until my parents got home and went hysteric over my bloody bedsheets. This now is nothing but a funny and loved story to tell around the dinner table. Don't even get me started on the time they put dirt over my clothes and face, getting me to beg for money so we could buy candy, only to be seconds away from being taken away/kidnapped by some man who said he was going to help me, also now just funny.

But would you really ever laugh about the time your older brother that you clearly respected, completely disregarded your trust? I don't know, maybe I'm overstating it but to me there's normal sibling behaviour we all go through, then there's just being a dick.

I was told to get off something countless times, countless, though I was just told to get off, not "haha not really, I just wanted to watch you suffer!"...seems different?

This is why I play with no voice chat. The voices of these children make me want to push pencils into my ears.
Seriously, if your balls haven't dropped, you have no business on XBox Live.

There were 15 other people in that game who got an early christmas present when that kid dropped.
