Zhang Yimou as chief director of the opening ceremony 2022

This mini documentary has recorded it well. The glory of the supreme leader who micromanages everything, makes sure he always looks busy and his main quality is he is the last to fall asleep at meetings. He is the one who knows the right solution to everything, if he can only make his subordinates come up with it. And he has a human side, he loves children, so he does not let them freeze to death. Thank you great leader.

Good Morning VIETNAM Creedence Clearwater Revival

I think, for humanity's sake, especially since WWI, no war is really that "necessary", there are ample ways for countries to file their grivances and seek restitution. War propaganda is the age old version of "toxic masculinity" politicians & the MIC love to impressed upon easily persuaded youths & the gullibles to fight for heir own political & financial agenda.

Every tax dollar going into the military is a dollar taken away from other social services. People have to decide what's the balance. But name me the last year that the US gov't have decreased military spending and upped social services (or lower taxes)?

"Thank you for your service".... ha! Easily said than done. Just look at how much governments reaaaaaally put their moeny into VA services to help the Vets in need.

I completely agree that both were screwed over. I happened to be talking about the vets because the phrase 'thank you for your service' seems completely hollow to me. Maybe it's a cultural thing that I can't see from the outside.

By 'prevention is better than cure' I meant not going to war in the first place, or at least treating your own side decently if war is 'necessary'.

Who you're talking about? The US Vets or the Vietnamese people that the USA got no legit reasons to invade? Actually, it's ALWAYS both of these people innit?

"A simple handshake and 'Thank you for your service' really DOES help"

... but not nearly enough.

Who here thinks US veteran homelessness and suicide rates are within reasonable levels and/or are sufficiently funded?

Prevention is better than cure, but if you're going to fuck someone that hard you can at least treat them decently afterwards.

Bulldog Has Incredible Reaction To Actress In Trouble

Watch it again and look at what the big dinos are going for.

What is in his hand. The cracker.

Which really is pretty stupid, because if you want the cracker, bite the holder of the cracker. Don't try for such a small target!

I learned a lot from what you wrote. Thank you!

And.

Big dinos laser focused and expending a great deal of energy for so few calories? THAT is the Hollywood nonsense.

This is MY pet peeve. I welcome company, of course. It is fun to be self righteously peeved!

noims said:

My guess is that the value of a few calories would depend on whether the dinosaurs were warm- or cold-blooded. A cold-blooded lizard or snake can last a lot longer on a small meal than a warm-blooded human.

The debate on whether or not actual dinosaurs were cold-blooded is still open, as far as I know. My favourite point in the argument is that all dinosaurs alive today (i.e. birds) are warm-blooded but perhaps it was exactly that adaptation that let them survive through the mas extinction.

Looking at the predatory dinosaurs in the film, there's no hint of feathers (so they're unlikely to be actual t-rexes), which to me points towards the idea that they're cold-blooded and so a small morsel would sustain them a while.

As for three of them getting involved, to me they're also being opportunistic at the chance of getting Kong. He seemed comfortable enough handling one, but it was definitely not a given. He acted very wary of two of them, so a third joining should really swing things in the dinosaurs' favour. However, it looks like Kong was holding back, and really let things fly when the odds were against him.
