Great Dane stuck in a tub

mintbbb says...

WikiPedia: 'The Great Dane is one of the world's tallest dog breeds; the current world record holder, measuring 109 cm (43 in) from paw to shoulder; 220 cm (7.2 ft) from head to tail, is George.'

43 inches is 3 ft 7 inches.. and that's to his shoulder. He's kinda tall, at least This one is not quite that tall, but they are HUGE

"Building 7" Explained

FlowersInHisHair jokingly says...

Why yes, next to those fanciful things, some Muslims hijacking and flying jetliners into some of the world's tallest buidings because they're drunk on the glory of martyrdom and pissed off that an infidel nation is more powerful than their own sounds pretty fanciful.

Exactly. And this brings to mind the main problem all conspiracy theories have to overcome - the size of the conspiracy. For the 9/11 attacks to have been a conspiracy, it would require so many people to be involved in the secret that it would be impossible to stop the information leaking out. Sooner or later, someone from within the conspiracy would blab.

But that misses the point: it's fun to imagine a crazy, wacky conspiracy with layer upon layer of complexity. Because really, it's not about the "truth"; it's about imagining the world really is like a crazy political/spy thriller. Then you get to imagine all sorts of crazy things:
- missiles being shot into the Pentagon
- remote controlled jetliners hitting building
- secret explosives planted to bring down skyscrapers
etc etc.

Is God Good?

shinyblurry says...

Animals can't sin, it isn't about right or wrong for them. The passage states the way of all flesh had been corrupted..that could mean a number of things, but it isnt expressly said what that meant for animals. I think God might correct an animals behavior since it doesn't have free choice, personally. An animal doesn't have rights, they were put here under the dominion of human beings, for our benefit.

We're all born with a sin nature, so there isn't such a thing as an innocent person, child or not. I think it is to say that the world was so bent on evil at that point that they wouldn't have a chance. As far as where the water came from, it also came from underground. Here is one underground ocean that was discovered:

As silly as that statement is that all animals had become wicked...it can't be true according to the story since Noah and his crew had to collect a bunch to be saved.
You believe that all the children and all the infants were not evil but destined to be evil? Now what happened to this "freedom" that God gave them?
The reset button? Now that IS something I think an omnipotent being would be capable of. With one flip of the almighty reset button all the wicked men, women, and animals would be dead...gone...turned to dust. But this whole Noah has to build a big ass boat and collect all the species of the planet and then a rainstorm that floods the ENTIRE earth...even covering the tallest mountain? Have you even thought of how much water that is? That doesn't sound like the work of an omnipotent being. It sounds like a campfire story created by primitive men.>> ^shinyblurry:
It says all flesh, which would include animals. At that point the entire world had been overtaken by wickedness, so the children of the time were destined to grow up even worse than their parents. The animals, too, had their ways corrupted by their close contact with human beings. Basically, evil had reached a point of total saturation and God hit the reset button.
>> ^Grimm:
So you actually believe the was a point in time that EVERY living human was evil? Every man, woman, child and infant except for a single family?
Also why the need for this omnipotent being to destroy all living animals on the planet as well?

FOIA Lawsuits Cause Release of New WTC7 Collapse Video

MaxWilder says...

I can't believe there are still people bringing this crap up.

1. The towers were designed to withstand impacts by jet planes and to withstand fires. But they didn't account for the fact that a jet impact would strip much of the insulation on the steel girders. So the impact plus the prolonged fire was what did them in.
2. The towers were all designed to collapse downward in case of catastrophic failure. That is a design priority for skyscrapers, and has been for decades.
3. WTC7 was seriously damaged by the collapse of WTC1, which also started fires across a number of floors. The damage to the water system caused by the collapse of the larger towers allowed the fires to burn out of control for almost seven hours.

The structural damage to WTC7 plus the uncontrolled fires caused a progressive collapse. That means that several internal collapses occurred before there simply wasn't enough structure left to hold up the building. You can see the penultimate collapse right there in the videos, when one of the penthouse structures goes down into the building. It is likely that several internal collapses happened before we see that.

I'm not saying people should forget about what happened. I'm not even saying we should stop trying to figure out exactly what happened. It's just these wacko conspiracy theorists that seem to be making up their own facts and ignoring perfectly reasonable explanations that piss me off.

Two of the tallest structures ever built by man collapsed amidst dozens of other massive structures. It's amazing they didn't take more with them.

My tomato plants flowers are opening up, I will have to pollinate them soon manually, as I do not have bees around. 26 inches is the tallest point on the plant. I grew them from seed starting around Christmas time, everything else is well but those tomatoes shot right up ~!

Ya know there is lots actually up, maybe thats why its so quiet.

Our whole class had to memorize the names (in Swedish) of the first 10 hydrocarbons. If anyone in the class missed a single one, the whole class had to do it again. To this day I remember the names, and to this day I've never used that knowledge. This would have been a good time to cheat.

World's tallest building opening ceremony - The Burj Khalifa

poppajay says...

An amazing piece of architectural engineering, of course they're going to publicise the fact they've just built the tallest building in the world. Who wouldn't?

Obviously Smugg, you know nothing of the Palestinian problem to be making such an inane comment and so far as the Muslim responsibility for helping poorer Muslim nations...it made me think about all those lucky lucky Christian kids living in abject poverty in Mexican slums thinking about how lucky they are to be bordered by the great and benevolent Christian USA. (along with all the people living in American slums??) Stones and glass houses I think.

I don't personally agree with nor like the ostentatiousness of Dubai, in the same way I don't agree/like that of Vegas and Disneyworld. I also do not like self righteous American hypocrisy.

So the workers only got $6 p/day?? Who, the designers? the structural engineers? maybe the architects? I'm sure some of the workers were low paid but not all. I mean, it's not like the USA has ever made use of cheap immigrant labour is it. (and let's not talk about the use of SLAVE labour, it only lasted three hundred years after all.)
