Learn to pronounce

noun: football; plural noun: footballs

1.
a form of team game played in North America with an oval ball on a field marked out as a gridiron.
British term for soccer.
play in a game of football, especially when stylish and entertaining.
"his team played some impressive football"
2.
a ball used in football, either oval (as in American football) or round (as in soccer), typically made of leather or plastic and filled with compressed air.

I don't know if you were being a smartass or just didn't know, either way, football means both american football and soccer.

Going off of the name "Róisín" and their accents, I suspect this is Ireland or Northern Ireland. That said, you have to be 17 in both to get a learner's permit.

Unless this is a particularly stylish tractor...

Alien: Covenant - Official Red Band Trailer

ChaosEngine says...

3 and 4 were Citizen goddamn Kane compared to Prometheus.

3 wasn't great, 4 was daft but stylish, but neither made me root for the giant rolling spaceship to crush the protagonists and put us all out of our goddamn misery.

Really, you would rather shame them for Prometheus instead of Alien 3 or 4?!? Prometheus had it's problems, but 1/2 alien mama Ripley clone and a level 5 biohazard containment ship that returns home automatically if things go wrong, I mean, come on. Prioritize.

Goddamnit, what is with that ADHD editing? I can accept that they needed to cut now and then because she couldn't make it in one flawless and stylish looking run, but now it pans and cuts once a second... plus, why would you ever move the camera away from her hands to show that awful piano?

Very cool movie magic - How did they do that?

Sarzy says...

I'm guessing that either the mirror was a green screen, and they managed to seamlessly combine the two shots, or the mirror was actually a glassless window to an identical room, and they added the second Jared Leto in post. Or maybe there's an invisible cut when the camera pans with the first Jared Leto, and when we see his back we're actually looking at another actor, and the real Jared Leto is standing behind the fake mirror. I dunno. It's pretty seamless.

Great movie, by the way. Really ambitious and super stylish (but not in an overbearing way).

Miley Cyrus - Wrecking Ball (Chatroulette Version)

Au contraire, you should feel refined and stylish in your musical sensibilities. The song (and artist) blows major chunkage...You know, like all of Lady Gaga's music, it's music written like plastic bottles are manufactured for beverages. You drink it, you toss it or recycle, it's solid-good for one use and after you have utilized it, for all manner of abuse.

I loved all those people singing along with the song, but then it hit me that they all know this song so well and I've never even heard it before. Man, I'm out of the loop.

I never wear stylish or cool clothes, but the guy in this video is about as weak as you can get. If he ran the world, it would be illegal for a clothing company not to make clothes in all sizes. Anybody notice how liberals are becoming more and more like nazis?

Best/Worst Entertainment of 2012 Thread (Cinema Talk Post)

radx says...

I'm always behind the curve by a few months, in some cases even years, but still, here's the short version:

My favorite MOVIE this year was "The Intouchables", hands down. Only the French can come up with such a captivating story.

As for GAMES, well, since I have played just two AAA titles this year, my favorite has to be an indie game, unsurprisingly. "FTL: Faster Than Light" was a blast. Perma death rarely works in favour of a game, but in this case, it became the foundation of the thrill FTL provides.
"Deadlight" was also fun, very stylish, but not extraordinary. And "X Rebirth" was postponed once again, so it'll be my game of the year 2013 instead.

TV was just the same ol', MUSIC as well.

BOOKS is a hard one. Or maybe not. A cursory check of my collection tells me I haven't read a single book that was published this year.

font-weight:500;
}
strong { color:#000 !important; }
