Let's Compare ( R-Type ) THE MEGA VIDEO
antI first played on my church friend's Sega Master System. I didn't know an arcade game existed when I tried it in Sin City. This game was rad. I couldn't get far. IIRC, I got to the level after the green big ship.
The arcade version of this was one of the first arcade games that I could put a quarter in and play for more then an hour. I would always set the high score whenever I would find one.
Good stuff.

Spawn - The Rise of Image Comics
shagen454I had all of those comics. Not even that, I had multiple versions of many of them, cover variations, different bags with different cards. All the first appearances, Amazing Spider Man this, X-Factor that, New Mutants up the ass - my favorite was the first appearance of Cable. I don't even know what happened to all of those comics. The only comics I still have are all of the first Akira comics and Sin City and my friend Aaron Shunga 's shit (https://hmphcomix.wordpress.com/2013/11/28/%E2%97%8A-%E2%97%8A-aaron_shunga-%E2%97%8A-%E2%97%8A/) because those are actually good. But yeah, go make some shit.

Did you ever do that meet and greet to get pictures with them? I did two blue men.
I do want to see them again, but I will wait until they change a lot.

I watched in Luxor also back pretty close to the same year -- I think a bit earlier, maybe 1998 or so? They had a great bit where they grabbed an audience volunteer and all put on "bib" like things with a spigot sticking out of them, then ate twinkies. As they ate, yellow/orange goo extruded out of the spigots -- really freaked out the audience volunteer!
Then I saw them again in I think 2014. Again in Vegas, but they had changed venues to the Monte Carlo. From a quick web search it looks like they are maybe back at the Luxor now, though.
Musically, it is extremely impressive to me how they can produce really great stuff that is all centered around their custom-built PVC and other percussion instruments. You'd think that a very percussion-heavy music act with blue body paint and "act weird" shtick might get stale, but I really loved both live shows I went to as well as their albums and DVDs like the MegaStar show.

antI saw them in Sin City's Luxor place in January 2001 with my folks. It was fun. I saw them again in Honda Center with my friends in the mid 2000s or so with the MegaStar tour.
Fun! I've seen them twice in Vegas, with about 15 years between the two times. Both were great -- their schtick is consistently funny/weird and the music is awesome.
Teller Speaks! - Penn & Teller Ice Bucket Challenge
antTry that with Blue Man Group. None of them spoke to me back in January 2001 in Sin City's Luxor. Although they did give me hand prints on my sweater. Did you get photo(graph)s with Penn and Teller?
I saw them some years ago and they stood at the exit for autographs, etc. on the way out, and I was surprised when Teller actually spoke to me.
Of course I knew he could speak, but I thought he was strict about never uttering a word in front of the general public or his audience.
I love that they called out Piff the Magic Dragon. I only know that guy from "Fool Us," but he was a real talent. I guess he's actually become something of a well-known comedy magician of sorts.
P.S. Boy, that was a big bucket!
