Obama Reacts To Death Threat

quantumushroom says...

There are certain realities in this world that hardcore moonbats (but not you) simply can't accept. One is that America is the greatest country on God's green earth. Another is that communism and its addle-brained cousin socialism are both failures that calcify the human spirit. A third is that it's beyond foolish to compare the merits of 7th-century savages with the modern West.

While latte-sippers argue the merits of the term, "Islamofascism" the animals themselves are still beating their wives and sisters to death under the guise of "honor killings". They don't have debates, they run knives through the necks of those that disagree with them. And because 9-11 happened so very long ago, it's now OK for you to forget they're out there.

Well, they haven't forgotten you.

The left acknowledges this threat to the West, you say? When? Was it when Sean Penn visited saddam in his palace? Or the string of anti-American, anti-US-military flops being shat out of whoreywood by liberal celebrities? THAT is their 'thank you' to the soldiers who put their lives on the line so they have the freedom to churn out such vile, contemptible crap and show ingratitude to the millions of decent Americans who put as many dollars in their pockets.

You're delusional. You hate Bush (and now McCain) more than bin laden. You sneer at the righteous disposal of a worthless cur like saddam and cluck your tongues at the Iraqis trying on freedom instead of living under a tyrant's whip. Who are you to be ashamed of America, the greatest force for good in this world? Who sapped your values and stole your beliefs? It had to be Bush, right? The same guy that "caused" Katrina? Please.

Do you even know what a "neocon" is? How could you compare this phony term when you don't know the first thing about conservatism except what your media masters and corrupt government schools (and liberalsift) have preached?

And this messiah you have chosen? The One who promises to punish all those evil rich people (who already pay 60% of the nation's taxes). Barry has already covered his ass this week, reminding his staff (with the media watching) that the people who vote for him shouldn't expect too much, right away. In other words, he pumped ya up, and he doesn't want anyone deflating too quickly when they discover he has no special powers.

Divisive language? No doubt. But I'm not sending people to the gallows for violating a fascistic politically-correct speech code.

You should be grateful, you American sifters, for all you have RIGHT NOW, and not pine for what treasures Barry promises to plunder on your behalf.

Am I "insane"? As I 'sift' through stomach-churning comments of hatred towards God and country, the wretched cynicism and bitterness of people too young for either, I half-wish I was insane.

If I insulted thee, I meant it. That doesn't mean I don't love you. I prefer clarity to agreement. And that's how it will be.

Matt Damon Actually Sounding Smart On Palin

volumptuous says...

>> ^vermeulen:He doesn't consider himself a world leader, like that jackass Sean Penn

Yeah, what a jackass!!

How jackassian of him to go down to New Orleans by himself, with a boat, and personally help rescue dozens of people who could've otherwise died, and risk his life doing so.

Only losers literally help people.

Matt Damon Actually Sounding Smart On Palin

vermeulen says...

the difference between Matt Damon in this, and say, Sean Penn, is that he is probably doing this interview on an unrelated manner. He doesn't consider himself a world leader, like that jackass Sean Penn, he is just giving his view when ASKED about his view in an interview.

Fair enough. The film has excellent performances, no doubt, and there's an emotional element to the story that is undeniable.

FYI: I saw this film about 3 months ago. Sam is a big fan of The Beatles, which provide the film's central premise that "all you need is love" but this movie takes it literally! In the world of this film, all you need is love. It's clear that Sam loves his daughter but I'm not so sure that's the only prerequisite to raise a 7 year old. There are, in actuality, other things to consider.

Now, if Sam could function at a slightly higher-level, thus providing a better balance between the premise and feasibility, it might have worked. To be clear, I do not fault Sean Penn in this regard, I fault the director who was ultimately responsible for guiding the depth of Sam's disability.

So basically, the film's trust in its own premise was so at odds with my powers of suspension of disbelief, the story fell apart. And I've enjoyed many films where those powers have been really really taxed: I'm no reality prude.

Yeah I do, cos films don't always have to reflect real life word for word. There are mentally disabled people out there who do have children, working with them myself for a while I had a colleague who had a day job in a centre to help these guys learn basic parenting skills, which is more than most parents get. I honestly don't know if they were as challenged as Sean Penn is in this film. Also, any film that raises awareness of issues such as these is a plus. The acting from the whole cast is brilliant, the subject matter is adorable. So yeah, again, I love this film

@ Drachen_Jager, mharvey42 and djsunkid: thanks for doing my homework (I was actually hoping for the poster to back it up; Pan7her, could you bother us with a link, or two? I mean, I’m a big fan of Sean Penn, but even I am not going to take his word for this). I think the Iraq stat’s are as accurate as we can get at the moment; I just wasn’t that sure about the other numbers. I mean, a lot of civilians died of the flue in WWI, but is that war-related? And who do or don’t count as civilian victims in WWII (why not include the holocaust victims, but then, if we do, should we include Stalin’s civilian victims as well)? And what about the other wars not mentioned? It’s all a matter of who and how you count, it seems.

Which, I think, is interesting, because it seems that ever since WWI there has been a tendency to fight a war with as little body bags coming home as possible (which is actually a serious theory about why the atomic bomb was created).

And, somehow, the numbers are important. I mean, if the US want revenge for the 3,500 people killed at 9/11 -- sorry, want to stop the terrorist threat-- it would be interesting to know what the current exchange rate between New York/Washington office employees and anonymous people at the other end of the world, --sorry, the acceptable “collateral damage” risk -- is.

How to make an Angry American

Munchound says...

Let's impeach Bush for the war and killing soldiers. Hell lets go back in time into our impeachment time traveling devices and impeach Lyndon B Johnson, and John Kennedy for Vietnam. Or lets impeach Clinton for what happen in Mogadishu. Even though that all the presidents I mentioned before were acting on the ideal to make it a better place for that country. Vietnam was tearing itself apart. Iraq had a dictator killing millions. And in Mogadishu we had people starving. You know those presidents that even though it wasn't our war we were trying to make a difference because we were the only ones who could. We should stand back and let a country tear itself apart. We should never help those in need. Let's listen to all the actors especially the genius of Sean Penn to tell us what to believe and follow. Because and I quote from Team America World Police, Sean Penn said "Last year I went to Iraq. Before Team America showed up, it was a happy place. They had flowery meadows and rainbow skies, and rivers made of chocolate, where the children danced and laughed and played with gumdrop smiles."

Yeah that is all. Here is how you make an angry American, by showing bullshit. This happened in the 30s,40s,50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and now, and guess what, it's probably going to keep happening as long as war exist. America is full of idealist and was founded by idealist. But whatever I guess we all forgot about American History. I mean QM did mention hippies. The hippies did say and act the same way against Johnson because of the Vietnam war. Just saying is all.
