Rainbow in the dark - Ronnie James Dio

The Who - Shakin' All Over

Farhad2000 says...

It's the Who, live in concert. There is nothing else to say.

The Who are an English rock band that first came to prominence in the 1960s. They grew to be considered one of the greatest and most influential rock bands of all time, in addition to being "possibly the greatest live band ever."

The group originally had four members, but drummer Keith Moon died in 1978 and bassist John Entwistle in 2002. The two remaining members, guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Pete Townshend and vocalist Roger Daltrey, continue to perform as The Who. Their most recent studio album, Endless Wire, was released in 2006. The Who are #8 on VH1's 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock, #9 on VH1's 100 Greatest Artists of Rock 'n' Roll and the #8 artist of all time on acclaimedmusic.net.

From mod rockers to rock operas to hard rock, The Who reigned triumphant as prime contenders, in the minds of many, for the title of World's Greatest Rock Band. - The Who's display at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Bjorn Lomborg: Global warming is not a priority

bamdrew says...

bjorn is an interesting fellow, with an interesting book. he appears on the surface to be the punk-rocker of modern scientists (anti-establishment, anti-convention) but his arguments are more along the lines of, 'lets step back for a minute and think where we are, what we're doing, and what we might regret not doing that we could be doing."

The Darkness - Girlfriend

The Darkness - Is It Just Me

antonye says...

Probably my favourite tune from Lowestoft (my hometown!) rockers The Darkness, this is another great video.

I love the way the lyrics are synched into the video in both speech and the writing, along with a great parody of the Cadbury's "Flake" advert somewhere in the middle.

Also checkout Girlfriend, another great video from the band.

Enjoy!

Tiny Elvis

swampgirl says...

It wasn't ignored, it just wasn't liked. I saw that ep of SNL when it aired too. Sorry.
You have what, three other posts? A couple are pretty damn good...so why go off your rocker over one dud? Have a look at my discard list...now that's "huge man.."

Man-Made Avalanche - Awesome Footage

Man-Made Avalanche - Awesome Footage

callistan says...

Not sure who the first track is by, but the second track is called Sofa Rockers by the Sofa Surfers. It's on Kruder and Dorfmeister's "K & D Sessions," which is a pretty fantastic double cd album (about 10 years old).

Henry Rollins: America is under attack

choggie says...

"Henry Rollins for president, anyone?"
or someone else, half as entertaining a transition-we've had a movie star, a general(s), any manner of manifestation including punk rocker, sociologist, nerd-power-lifter, out-of-the-closet, media whore anarchist....par for the chaos.

I like the cut of his jib...pissed and deservedly so.

Extremely Vulgar Canadian political hearing lipsynch

Krupo says...

The is the most low-brow video I have *ever* sifted, but it's funny if you understand that this guy is the head of the CBC, which is the Canadian version of the BBC.

Apparently the prog rockers at day job orchestra put this lip sync together.

Funnier than the silly vulgarity, IMHO, is the random insert of the Italian/Gino-sounding committee member partway through.

Scratch: The Movie (Hip Hop Turntabilsm/ist documentary)

benjee says...

A fantastic documentary film charting the history of 'Scratching' or Turntablism (the official website and it's IMDB entry)...

"A feature-length documentary film about hip-hop DJing, otherwise known as turntablism. From the South Bronx in the 1970s to San Francisco now, the world's best scratchers, beat-diggers, party-rockers, and producers wax poetic on beats, breaks, battles, and the infinite possibilities of vinyl."
A special thanks to DeputyDog's Sift Talk post that finally allowed me to find this video (I've searched before, but to no avail!) I guess this will be the first of many vids from that blog!

A drunk Kelly Clarkson is pulled out of the audience to join Metal Skool on-stage

Krupo says...

I thought I'd never say it for a vid with Kelly Clarkson, but it needs an nsfw tag too. The rockers were right about one thing though - she gained street cred by appearing up there with them.

LOL, Yellow-card boy.
