Joe Rogan - Police & Occupy Wall Street

cito says...

protesters should move on from practicing their 1st amendment right to practicing their 2nd amendment right and execute these treasonous bastards and hang the politicians and fat cat bankers from the street lights.

just as leading up to 1776 started off with peaceful protests and gatherings and nothing ever changed and were beat down or jailed for speaking out, until protesters back then had had enough and took up arms to force change and to take our country by force.

the same needs to happen now.

Benjamin Franklin said it himself a country needs a revolution every 200 years to avoid a tyrannical government from taking hold.

Oakland Solidarity March in NYC W/ Sgt. Shamar Thomas

Sagemind says...

So lets get this straight.

The people are peaceful protesters - protesting the control authorities have over them.
The police are there to control the protesters.
The Police continue to push the protesters around and herd them and try to force them to leave.
The protesters continue to protest.
The police push harder, engaging in confrontation.
The protesters resist.

Situation A).
The police get violent, start fights and then begin arresting people

Situation B).
The protesters stay peaceful, The police keep pushing until fights start and then begin arresting people

Situation C).
The protesters fight back, The police fight back and then there is a riot for which the people are blamed and everyone is arrested.

So the police are allowed to harass people, start fights, herd people, limit where they can go/protest, control them, tear gas them, rubber bullet them ect. and have the full support of the "Establishment". BUT if the people lift one finger, or defend themselves, or stand their ground, say a bad word, or stay on premises - even peacefully, they open themselves up to violence and arrest.

The Leaders we hired (and pay for) are controlling the police (we pay for) to stop us from using the streets (we pay for) and limit the use of public spaces (we pay for) so they can control us. If the employees we elected and hired to run our system are no longer working for us, then they have claimed mutiny on their own employers/people to pander to outside marauding interests in the name of greed.

Occupy Oakland - Flashbangs USED on protesters OPD LIES

I unfortunately share these sentiments. Peaceful protesting is effective to a certain extent. We are fast approaching the extent. This is one reason I believe in being able to bare arms even though I despise guns and violence not that guns would be effective against much of the riot technology the cops have. Supposedly, the Bay Area cops brought a sound weapon to Occupy Oakland....

peaceful protests are often ignored and never work
instead of practicing their 1st amendments peacefully, I believe it's now time to start practicing our 2nd amendment and execute the treasonous bastards in the streets.
like the first american revolution, there were years of protesting that were ignored until americans finally had enough and rose up violently to destroy the tyrants and to take our country by force.
and like Benjamin Franklin said a government needs to be overthrown every 200 years or so or it becomes a tyranny. And we are now past time for a new revolution.
hopefully the political correct sheep will wake up and grow tired of sticking with political correct herd mentality and take up arms against the tyrants

Veteran shot in the face by Police at Occupy Oakland

Tear gas! Thrown at Occupy Oakland!

shagen454 says...

According to Occupy Oakland, they will fight back:
This morning at 5am over 500 police in riot gear from cities all over central California brutally attacked the Occupy Oakland encampment at 14th & Broadway. The police attacked the peaceful protest with flash grenades, tear gas, and rubber bullets after moving in with armored vehicles. Apparently the media was not allowed in to document this repression, and the police established barricades as far apart as 11th and 17th. Over 70 people were arrested and the camp gear was destroyed and/or stolen by the riot police.

Shocking Police Behaviour OccupyMELBOURNE!

Yogi says...

I very much understand peaceful protest and I participate in it and have since the Iraq War started. However I've never been just simply attacked by policemen. I have to imagine if I was attacked I would fight back. My question is where legally do my rights lie? I don't think it's ok that a policeman can attack me and not expect me to fight back, that just doesn't make sense to me. If they're being unreasonable what are my rights under the law to protect myself?

I don't know the answers but this video angers me...if a cop ever did that to me while I was being peaceful I don't think I could stop myself from going on the offensive.

OccupyTimesSquare - 1 Marine vs. 30 Cops

It was? And where's your source for this information?

First, you get a fucking clue. I know what's going on in the news and have seen several beating tapes. My point is THESE COPS are doing nothing wrong. So why take it out on THEM?! find some that ARE doing something wrong and yell at THEM!

Here is a tip for you. If you watch this video you'll see the Times Square BoA neon in the background. This video was shot shortly after many of the other Times Sq video where these same riot gear cops are beating on protesters. You might even see the video where they remove barricades and run horses into a wall of people who have nowhere to move to.
I think anyone walking around on Oct15 near Times Sq would have seen these cops being abusive to peaceful protesters, and hence what motivated this marine to speak out to the cops asking them WTF are they doing.

Yeah, I agree with @joedirt

But at least the cops aren't Mexicans right? All they do is drink, drive, and be illegal... I love stereos...Wait, or is that wrong?!

Until I see the video showing what happened prior to this to start him yelling at them, I stand by my comment. If nothing happened, then he should find cops that are actively abusing folks and yell at them some.

Wow, just because you are completely ignorant of the news, you go full ostrich.
Get a clue. Watch some news or videos. This footage was shot during the march to Times Square on Oct 15th. If you would like footage of NYPD cops man-handling peaceful protest during the last month, those videos are available also.

Occupy Wall Street vs. Tea Party

shagen454 says...

Never forget the way America works. Tea Party protests were covered all over the media, the media never spoke of their tinges with racism and homophobia among many other things including being a sell out corporatist movement. They glorified those FOX fried fanatics.

They ignored the OWS movement from day one because they are not interested in investing in this movement because this movement is a direct threat to them. They made them look like idiotic, homeless, hippy bums. Shame on you.

Remember, whether or not September II was an inside job, THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS protested, in some places hundreds of thousands came out to protest the War in Iraq and were not covered by the mainstream media for months. If it was reported they made it seem like it was just a bunch of anarchists smashing windows.

Theyve thrashed everything but these days, unlike back a decade ago, they have continued to lose their grip on the publics mass media feeding tube. WATCH THE FUCK OUT CORPORATE AMERICA.

I like me some peaceful protests Ghandi style. But I hope someone is getting those molotov cocktails ready.

Pussys dont change the way things work.

** that is to say, in more words- Hippies and this mediocre sit in bullshit does nothing, it changes nothing it wont change anything. I will eat this computer monitor if these walk through the streets with banners stuff ACTUALLY makes change, sure it gets in the news but does it do anything?

This negative nancy says no. If you are going to be an officer and blindly sit and do a job because " its my job" you got/get everything you deserve from mob mentality.

I can't wait until you see the people flood over a barricade and envelope the police force like a swarm of fire ants.
Shitty to call for the pain of others, but it will be fairly good video to see when it does happen.
ten people to one cop= a bad time for the cop.
Yes I am advocating violence against violence.

Right, give all the people who are already calling for a heavy handed crackdown on the peaceful protesters something to put on every TV on Earth--everyday for months.

Good call.

The people demand self-expression, and... if there is an outbreak of violence, it would not be without cause. We are yet far from the independence of our dream. The irresponsibility of the Centre, which eats up 80 per cent of the revenue, grinds down the people and thwarts their aspirations, is daily proving more and more intolerable. There is a growing consciousness of the terrible autocracy of the majority of the States.

The fact that violence must fail will not prevent its outbreak. Mere constitutional agitation will not do.

-Gandhi
