Lady Speaks about LGBT protection ordinance

If she does this regularly, somebody should have helped her get help. Ignoring and playing along with the insanity isn't helping.

Usually I end up with a strong dislike of city councils or groups like them in general. The viciousness and petty squabbles that erupt in these groups are often blown far out of proportions to the issues that instigated them.
That being said. I honestly am finding it strange that this city council has earned some respect from me.
They know of this lady's illness but continue to allow her to speak in front of them and do not hinder her in any way.
From the article,
"She usually speaks twice a month during the council's open mic sessions, where citizens can talk for up to five minutes on any topic. The council sits patiently until she is done."
Had she been doing this in Dallas Tx, or any of the surrounding cities I have no doubt that she would of been forcibly removed and banned from returning. More likely causing even more damage to her psyche by adding the idea that she is being prosecuted for her ideas and beliefs.
Hats off for this city councils understanding and patients.

Please read the article.

Now to point out one quote from it.

"He said her family has tried to get her help multiple times, but unless she harms herself or others, there's not much more they can do."

Being Ill does not remove a persons rights. Its easy to say "Get her Help or she needs help" but unless she is willing to receive it there is not much anyone can do. It's no so much as playing along as it is just being respectful.
It also does not hurt anyone just to be polite.

Or, they're all just having a laugh at her expense. I find this all really humorous, and yet I can't help but feel a little bad for laughing.

Disclaimer: I like pr0n as much as the next dude and think hooking should be legal.
However, I hate the fascist dehumanizing element which seems to have become the standard, and hate even more the mainstreaming and glamorization of the pr0n "lifestyle" as legitimate theater.
Pr0n has its place, but if it's such a life-affirming industry then the "stars" wouldn't be drugging and drinking--and occasionally diseasing--themselves to death.
Pr0n is a useful poison; far less useful than other poisons. As for the rest of these clever comments, open mic night is on Thursday(s).

The problem is "right and wrong" doesn't return after the camera stops, either.

You got an example of how Belladonna's wronged the world?

I actually agree with your general point, that porn actors are increasing being held up as some sort of role models for a glamorous, exciting life for people who want to get a kick out of breaking a fading taboo. However, pointing to porn is a generalisation, plenty of other entertainers are just as bad and there are those in porn who are fine, and the question was about Belladonna specifically, whose life we know nothing about (if I may presume!). Porn actors are probably statistically among the worst in terms of drug abuse and mental health, but I don't think individuals should tarred with this brush.

I am guessing the health/drugs stat, I think that's a fair assumption. Also, I assume you originally meant "right and wrong doesn't return" to be what's right and wrong for her (e.g. potential drug abuse), rather than how she'd wronged the world.

From a philosophical point of view the answer was "yes" and is for me very easy to understand. I am not saying I agree with QM here, but he did state a reason, whether or not you or I understand it (I do, in this particular case.)

I.e., women in some porn are slapped like animals, spit on, pissed on, shoved with baseball bats and worse. Sick people watch this. Is it voluntary? To those who can afford not to, sure, but just like the army there are those who cannot afford to.

Another way of putting it is thus. Without these women who are degraded and create the expectation that degrading women is fine, then there wouldn't be such. So in essence, propagating this treatment of subhuman standards is the fault of women like Bella.

I.e., again, if there weren't Soldiers willing to fight unjust wars like Iraq, then there would be no unjust wars like Iraq (And yes, that is a fucking good comparison.)

As I said before, you can't argue with me because this isn't my position--so try not to refute it through me plz.

Because other theater and screen stars wouldn't take drugs, drink, or spread disease. You wanna rail against immorality, then do it without cherry-picking an industry. Or, if you really want to make a point, why not point out the "fascist dehumanizing element" of this video?

George H.W. Bush heckled while ordering pizza

Kreegath says...

What's wrong with going up to Bush and calmly tell him that you think he did a terrible job and hurt your country? Why must it instead be shouting profanities like a self righteous young teenager?
I don't disapprove of the act of expressing ones feelings, just the way this guy handled the situation. He had a golden opportunity to voice some of his crackpot conspiracy theories to one of the subjects of them, but instead he seems to have wasted it by heckling like a drunk at a comedy club open mic night.

Yo as easy as it may seem MC'ing is not a capa-
bility for most to possess, you gotta catch up,
Take the time to create, construct demonstrate
Set wack MC's straight, drinkin' a V8
I'm like a baseball player on track, got on steel cleats
I represent the conscience styles until it hits the streets
My backbone attack wack poems, got mad rap tones
I destroy fake Madlib beats and Crackerjack poems (Ha-Ha)
It's time for lunch already, yes past lunch
I eat MC's like Captain Crunch, I attack and then punch
Rap in such different styles that's unlike yours
Wack MC's, I'll point you out and point out all of your flaws
All of your jaws get broken, styles no jokin'
Battling straight up battling is what I'm provokin'
But I'll die before these wack MC's infect thee
Hip Hop industry to the point I cannot breathe

But if Wildstyle dies before Wild Child wakes
I pray to God to step down and take out all them fake
MC's, pretty please
"Cuz when I'm on the mic I like to speak freely"

Down with the Liks, Jump straight from the bass onto the kicks
Non-freestylin' MC's fall straight down in the pits
My name be Jack, spontaneous freestylist when I catch wreck
Brothers bite me so hard saying my rhymes I ain't even wrote yet
So I take it to the max, take out Fake-Funkin' Jacks
Get to the point as I rock over Madlib bumpin' tracks
"You used to get busy at open mics?" Nah, I still do
I kill crews, lyrically, spiritually, yo I will do
Anything it takes to bring B-boy style back
And the thanks for you to make ya say my rhyme style's phat
But I'll die before these wack MC's infect these
Hip Hop industry to the point I cannot breathe

But if Wildstyle dies before Wild Child wakes
I pray to God to step down and take out all them fake
MC's, pretty please

I agree, it's not my power, it's the power of lots of people working together. Not everyone wanted what I want.

For now, I'm willing to trust that we've stopped torturing. I'm content (but not happy) with how we're drawing down from Iraq. I'm discontent with the silence we're given about Afghanistan.

I wouldn't call what's happening nationalizing labor and industry. While government has bought shares in several major companies, they have studiously avoided giving themselves controlling interest, and have no interest in maintaining ownership. If I get a whiff that they plan on keeping GM or AIG, or any of the banks, I'll get unhappy fast.

As for the debt and deficit, I'm numb to it. It's been insurmountably large, and increasing since before I could walk. I want it fixed, but really, it wasn't so bad until Bush, and it's not nearly as bad as it was after WW2 and the Great Depression. I'm not so worried about deficits now as I am concerned about things like health care and global warming. Putting plans for both in place will likely help out a lot with the debt, and our trade imbalances, and the environment, and people's willingness to start their own business, etc.

As for the empire, I'm not in favor of sustaining it. But there's only so much I think is possible to fix right now. There'd be a public outcry if we tried to cut "defense" spending, especially when every Republican screams "OOGA BOOGA, TERRORISM" into every open mic around.

I don't think that the Democrats are perfect, but I'm never going to be interested in being a libertarian. I think in Europe I might be a conservative (maybe), but here and now I'm trying to make the Democrats live up to their platform, which is a big step in the right direction on all fronts as far as I'm concerned. I want more, more quickly but I don't see anything changing quickly under our constitution (and I'd rather not see Obama take up the Bush tactics for ramming things through).

Personally the main issue I face in "purifying" the Democrats is big business bribing our guys to the dark side, and self-identified conservatives ramping up hatred for everyone else in the world. Trying to tell everyone that business is the sweetest, most wonderful thing in the world is like the sickest kind of joke, especially if you want some sort of lasting anti-war and anti-corporatist movement to succeed.

When there's a country where 20-30% of the people think QM is right every time he opens his mouth (and 30% more who're willing to give up anything to feel safe from the feverish horrors they dream up), things like ending a global hegemony gets very, very hard, especially if you spend more time fighting with people like me, than people like him.

Seriously man, we're on the same side with most of the important stuff.
