He Never Died - Official Red Band Trailer

poolcleaner says...

This looks amazing. Almost as cool as his role as the Red Lotus master of the void, Zaheer.

Henry Rollins gets better with age, but I will still rock Black Flag's Damaged every. fucking. day. KEEP ME ALIVE --

Only you can do it
If not you'll die too
And I'll see to it

It's hard to survive
Don't know if I can do it

Keep me alive
I can't accept my fate
I need help
Before it's too late

It's hard to survive, don't know if I can do it
I need to belong, I need to hang on
I need, NEED

Keep me alive feelings I must obey
Can't turn my eyes from the past
This crisis is the last

Keep me alive
I rely on your judgement
I've got none left of my own
Don't know what I'm doing

It's hard to survive, don't know if I can do it
I need to belong, I need to hang on
I need, NEED

Keep me alive
Only you can do it
Keep me alive
Only you can do it

It's hard to survive, don't know if I can do it

Keep me alive
Keep me alive
Keep me alive
Keep me alive

It's hard to survive, don't know if I can do it
I need to belong, I need to hang on
I need, need

Glen Ford on police training:

"A cop’s verbal exclamation, when characterized as a “lawful order” or “command,” becomes a license to kill. Once the order has been issued – no matter how outlandish, or even impossible to comply with – failure to obey is a crime and the basis for rapid escalation of the conflict. Individuals or groups can easily be maneuvered into non-compliance with police orders, followed quickly by death."

The fabric thing is valid, but the New Testament specifically exempts food, so the food laws no longer apply. Of course the New Testament doesn't forbid owning slaves, in fact tells slaves to continue to obey their masters... so technically, slavery is still allowed by the faith despite their claims that they are the ones who got rid of it... of course the South used all the slavery verses to justify their use of slavery, just like during the 50's and 60's people used the verses about mixing races to justify keeping segregation going and refuse interracial marriage licenses. Really when it comes down to it, you can use the Bible to prove any side of an argument you want apparently... I guess god really is perfect as his book can be used to justify 100% opposite positions.. <eye roll>

Nope! Personally, I will teach my children they're just words. I can already see the arguments I'll get into with school officials. Removing the taboo from something immediately reduces the use of it as a form of rebellion.

What I'm attempting to point out is this persistent, cultural impression that some words are worse than others, but no real explanation is provided. Instead of explaining to reach an understanding, we're "conditioning" to obey without question. (i.e. If an authority-figure tells you "because I said so", you just do as your told like everyone else!)

This cognitive dissonance is exactly how it happens. Mom is bemused and giving her daughter all this positive reinforcement for what, in most other contexts in a child's world, would be (and constantly is) shamed and punished.

Ideally I'll just say to my kids: "Use those words all you want, but not around people who ask you to stop. We should be courteous to everyone". There will be no such thing as "Bad Words".

i find it amusing in an ironically, twisted way that the very same people who will shout about "freedoms" and "liberty" are the very same people who will tacitly accept an ever-increasing authoritarian police force.

i mean, what could possibly be an end result of the continuous pleas "just sit down, and do what you are told and nothing bad will happen".
sit down.
shut up.
obey..and for god's sakes do not provoke anything resembling authority because then you get what you deserve.

does that sound like anything resembling "freedom"?
or liberty?
sounds like fear to me.

police officer body slams teen in cuffs

newtboy says...

To put it another way....it's in your best interest to calmly obey authority in the moment, even when they're obviously wrong, or you will likely be the one to suffer for it in the end.

lucky760 said:

@GenjiKilpatrick - Just to clarify, for me it's not a matter of treating police brutality as acceptable. It's a matter of being prepared and reacting the best possible way for self-preservation given the reality of the situation.

It's not that you should comply with unreasonable requests or brutal behavior because it's acceptable. It's unacceptable (morally) that so many officers act that way, but rebelling against such officers won't improve your situation and will likely end up with your face slammed into the floor or similar.

"When he was stopped by the police officer, Tyree obeyed and got off of his bike and spoke with the officer. The officer then proceeded to put Tyree’s hands behind his back before four policemen were suddenly on top of him."

Really? Where is this part of the video? Why do we never get to see this part?

Mark Rutte (NED) went down a similar road.

What I'd like to know is if they are a) sucking up to Germany, b) hiding behind Germany, c) true believers or d) doing this to appease certain elements of their constituency.

They demand everyone to obey the financial rules (that Germany broke most of all) and conveniently ignore the social rules alltogether.

Yes, exactly - psychedelics are illegal because governments are afraid that people may not want to submit and obey if they take them. All the more reason to take them.

Psychedelics are illegal because they dissolve opinion structures and culturally laid down models of behaviour and information processing. @bobknight33
here is what i don't get about you or lantern:
1.you state that you are a conservative with a "tea party" flavor to your politics,
YET...
you consistently defend the power of the state to authorize our ever-increasing militarized police force to engage in violence and brutality which often leads to the death of a citizen, often with impunity (such as this case).

this is neither conservative nor tea party,it is fascist.

2.many of your arguments point to obeying a lawful order,be polite and respectful and much of the brutality and violence would end.on this point i totally agree,
BUT....
you totally ignore how "equal under law" has been perverted to only serve the elite and those who can "pay for justice" and how the system of "justice" has been corrupted to target minorities and the economically insolvent (poor) and feed them into the largest prison system on the planet.

they are commodifying the poor, blacks, latinos in the name of profit, all for the same elitist fucknozzles who perpetrated fraud, theft and outright lies, walking away with trillions of our money and not a single indictment.(check that,ONE indictment of a low level banker..whoopdy-shit).

yet i see you consistently BLAME the poor, black and latino.

this is not conservative nor tea party....it is racist.

3.many of your posts deal with a corrupt government.how it is bloated and inefficient.you decry the 'welfare/nanny state" and the horrible misappropriation of funds.

this is a typical, and necessary argument.that is the way of political dialogue and while i am not debating here the finer points nor the validity of your position,i am,however, saying the discussion is a necessary one to engage in.

however,

you, almost without fail, disregard and will actually DEFEND:police brutality and military action on foreign soil.yet BOTH of these institutions are exclusively government controlled, operated and executed.(which is why many of lanterns posts make me laugh).

this is not conservative nor tea party ......... it is the epitome of cognitive dissonance.

my point is:
your arguments and positions are not philosophically harmonious.
they are in direct opposition.your posted philosophies are a direct contradiction to what you espouse.

here is an example of late:
@newtboy tends to post cops behaving badly videos.
you will chime in,almost always, siding with the cop (in one fashion or another).
newtboy will make an argument about exercising your rights.the rights as a citizen in a situation with a representative of the state..
AND YOU WILL ARGUE WITH HIM.

in that instance..newtboy is more a tea party conservative than you are bob.

think about that for a moment bob....
newt is MORE of a patriot and constitutionalist than YOU are.
maybe you are just being a contrarian?
maybe just a bit of trolling?

but...in the end, your arguments make no sense due to their contradictory nature.
you can't be for a smaller, more accountable government and then look the other way when that very same government is over-stepping it's lawful directives.

Texas cop busts a pool party picking on the black teens

GenjiKilpatrick says...

Hey @lantern53

You're oddly silent.

What's your opinion on this one?

Good police work here?

I wonder why they only tackled and handcuffed the black kids tho.

Clearly they aren't racial bias or anything. Cops can't ever be racist.

They probably just knew exactly ever kid that did or didn't "belong" there
You know, like they personally know each and every kid and where they live.

So of course they only tackled the ones that were "trespassing" and "fighting".. right? o_O?

Either way, lawful or clearly morally unlawfully wrong.
ALWAYS obey the police, amirite?!

I'm not into speculation you wrote.. " ... Buzzfeed News spoke to Brandon Brooks, who uploaded the video to Youtube. “I think a bunch of white parents were angry that a bunch of black kids who don’t live in the neighborhood were in the pool,”...." , The term " I think" is not a fact.

READ what I SAID.

..."It does not say that white or blacks were fighting. Since the cop was gathering up black kids it appears that they were the uninvited guests and some broke out in fighting. The video or text does not say just that juveniles were now actively fighting. More info is needed."

You have knee jerk reaction to see that all things are racist. I look at all things subjectively and just look at facts at hand. That makes you the racist and me intellectually superior to you.

Did the cop need to control the situation - yes.
Did the cop over react- yes - But how would he reacted? Every one scattering and running , not obeying, Cop being over heated with 30 lbs of gear, wearing black clothing making him even hotter.
Should he loos his job - No.

If all the kids obeyed do you think these events would have been more peaceful?

GenjiKilpatrick said:

I swear to the god i don't believe in, Bob. You have the mental capacity of a 6 year old.

"Update, 2:05 p.m. – Buzzfeed News spoke to Brandon Brooks, who uploaded the video to Youtube. “I think a bunch of white parents were angry that a bunch of black kids who don’t live in the neighborhood were in the pool,” he said. “Everyone who was getting put on the ground was black, Mexican, Arabic,” he said.

“[The cop] didn’t even look at me. It was kind of like I was invisible.” Brooks is white."

I'll even concede the whole "cops needed to gain control of the situation"

Tho.. literally the only people handcuffed on the ground were black kids.

Why are you pretending like cops aren't racist, @lantern53

Explain why - even tho, as you stated @bobknight33, the cops didn't know WHO was fighting white, black or indifferent - only black kids where chased, thrown to the grown and handcuffed?

Did democrats brutalize and arrest them?
I thought dems love suckin' up to the black vote.
So.. ?

Care to explain? Either of you?

Remember kids, if the pitbull bites your arm real hard and won't let go, he just wants to play.

Who needs de-escalation if you can be the pitbull? That's exactly the problem here, the lack of training and stench of racism.

The Facebook police statement..
"Pool Party Incident:

On June 5, 2015 at approximately 7:15 p.m., officers from the McKinney Police Department responded to a disturbance at the Craig Ranch North Community Pool. The initial call came in as a disturbance involving multiple juveniles at the location, who do not live in the area or have permission to be there, refusing to leave. McKinney Police received several additional calls related to this incident advising that juveniles were now actively fighting.

First responding officers encountered a large crowd that refused to comply with police commands. Nine additional units responded to the scene. Officers were eventually able to gain control of the situation..."

It does not say that white or blacks were fighting. Since the cop was gathering up black kids it appears that they were the uninvited guests and some broke out in fighting. The video or text does not say just that juveniles were now actively fighting. More info is needed.

The cops have to gain control of the situation, then go about finding out what occurred and who did what.

The girl was as the wrong place at the wrong time. The cop was in no mood to play around.

Once again obey, let the cop do what he needs to do and everyone moves on.

What was the result? Did they find who did the fighting?

Real Time with Bill Maher: Christianity Under Attack?

JustSaying says...

If men of GOD trip and fall, they're usually landing penis first in other men or children.
I loathe gay clergy not for staying in their closet of self-hatred, I loathe them for actively speaking out against their own nature and therefore making it harder for those who chose not to be liars.
I chose to discard the bible because of the immoral, unethical, cruel and simply made up stuff that's written in it. That should be reason enough.
I detest christian churches for supporting pedophilia and actively covering up pedophile's crimes while having the gall to tell me what I should or should not do sexually. I detest them for claiming the authority to make up rules of morality when they refuse to obey the rule of law and human decency. The Duggars are just a recent example of that.
The reason society won't allow sexual relationships with children is simply because we recognise that children aren't able to make informed choices regarding sexual consent. That's why the world frowned on Courtney Stodden and Doug Hutchinson, because everyone knew it was a shitty idea made by weird, creepy people.
Consent is something grown ups can give. And millions of gay men do it all the time, without your approval or not. All they want is equal treatment.
If pedophiles wanted that (and they did try in the past), we tell them to go fuck themselves because the people they want to, are simply too young to make that choice. There's a legal limit for drinking, driving and fucking and it's there for a reason.
If they claim "I was born this way!", which they often are, we tell them we have therapies for that. They don't go there because their sexuality is weird, out of the norm or gross, it's because it always hurts the other people involved. Always.

You are the one ranting "But what if you take away the rule book?! Goats will rape our children!" You seem to be the one worried that all goes Mad Max if we're not threatened with eternal damnation anymore.
I for one are not worried any place turns into Sodom and Gomorrah. You want to know why? Because I have all those gay, lesbian and transgender people to remind me that everybody deserves respect. They can walk up to me and start a conversation and don't have to worry I will yell "Abomination!" and start throwing my own poop.
Maybe I can learn something from their expirience. Maybe even somebody like you could. I hope somebody you truly love turns out to be gay, it would be quite educational for you to know what they know.
And you're right, I don't know anybody called Jack. I can only offer a Johannes but he was an idiot.
