Little Bruce Lee

A New Level Of Archery Skills

ChaosEngine says...

Interesting that he chose that analogy.

If someone said to me he's the 'Bruce Lee playing ping pong of archery', I would take it to mean it's all faked. (Bruce Lee never played ping pong with nunchaku, it's a well known fake).

I asked a friend of mine about it. He has represented his country in archery, so I trust his opinion on it.

Paraphrased:

Yeah, it's real.
No, it's not that impressive.

He didn't "rediscover" any of the techniques he claimed to. Most of them have been known for ages, and the change for modern archery was intentional and well known. the whole "studying ancient manuscripts" etc etc is bollocks

the catching arrows thing: difficult but not impossible. you use a very light bow, and it's actually not that hard

his accuracy is mildly impressive. not what I'd call amazing at the ranges he shows

he is fast, i'll give him that

@eric3579 I never had an issue with all the details of what he is doing -- couldn't care less about bow strength and armor. I was more curious if he is ACTUALLY DOING IT, or if this was some sort of CGI.

....

"This guy is the Clint Eastwood of archery," says Tim Wells, professional bow hunter and host of the TV show, Relentless Pursuit. "Or if I was talking to someone who had never shot a bow and arrow, I'd say he is the 'Bruce Lee playing ping pong of archery.' We have all played ping-pong and none of us can play with nun chucks — that's what this guy's skillset with a bow is comparable to. He's a badass."

Ah ok, well always nice to be proven wrong Keeps you alert!

It seems her videos are tailored to getting herself a job, so that does explain why this is so showy. Nothing wrong with that, people gotta eat!

Not to be a downer but it is one thing to learn to use nunchucks as a performance tool, than it is to use them as a weapon. Her movements to me don't suggest martial arts training or very loose training, seems to be some dance orientated thing.

>> ^swedishfriend:
Pretty cool but does suggest stunt work reel rather than actual martial arts. I want to see her in some protective gear real time sparring with another nunchaku practitioner if she was trying to show off martial arts skills.

I actually thought the same thing when I saw this video, but after a quick google, it does seem she's the real deal.

Problem is, it turns out that teaching a good martial artist to act well is far more difficult than teaching a good actor to do some believable martial arts scenes. Not that any action movies ever feature much in the way of believable fight scenes anyway.

you think it's easy to find a female nunchaku master that doesn't have a bent nose and smashed teeth? >> ^Duckman33:
Good thing she's cute because god forbid if I have to watch this and she was ugly...

Master? Considering none of the clips in this video are longer than 3 seconds, I think there's a very good chance she's not particularly skilled.

Give me some nunchaku, a camera man, a wig and a sports bra and I'll recreate this video in a couple hours.

Screwy home page with votes? (Sift Talk Post)

Something is wonky.

http://www.videosift.com/video/New-Barbie-Doll-with-a-Burqa
I had to promote this one (had 10 votes) to get it out of my Pqueue.

Now -

http://www.videosift.com/video/School-Bus-Attack
has 11 votes, and still sits in my Pqueue

http://www.videosift.com/video/Estrogen-Powered-Nunchaku-Mastery
has 12 votes, and still sits in my Pqueue

http://www.videosift.com/video/Your-Grandma-Licks
has been discarded, and still sits in my Pqueue

Although, the number says, I only have 2 posts in my Pqueue, I actualy have 5 sitting there, and they won't move forward to the sifted (or discarded) sections.
And I'm not charter, so I shouldn't be able to have more than 3 posts in my Pqueue.
