Tequila farmers now let a certain percentage of plants go to flower (even though that ruins them for tequila) because they are the main food source for Mexican bats during their yearly migration, and the bats are the main pollinators for agave.

So, we agree that since to be a muslim requires the absence of consistent, rational thought, then muslims are necessarily intellectually inferior to humans. Obviously that implies moral inferiority also, which is what I posted originally. It's nice to build consensus.

You're spot on with my influences. I don't know why but music from that era speaks to me the loudest. There's trumpet on three of the tracks so there's a BIT of brass. The reason that there are no woodwinds on this album is pretty much due to money. More musicians means more moola! I also wanted the piano and guitar to be providing the melody as much as possible. Unfortunately, there aren't any EWI players around my parts. Edmonton's not exactly the Mecca of jazz

Well about the military thing, I'm actually in the Canadian Army and my job title is "Musician." Everything I do with the Artillery is music related. Although, every year we need to go the rifle range to make sure we still know how to use a rifle and our fitness is tested once a year as well.

It is truely a finely tuned machine. Never had a bad experience. You can tour it also. There is only one(I would hate to see this Mecca become a chain). It has been a few months since I had their grub. Where I live now takes me 45 minutes to get there. I might tell the roommate to pic up my favorite, gnocchi with homemade italian sausage smothered with cheese. He works 10 minutes from it. Now I am hungry.

I agree with your comparison of the two religions, but I think my point also stands that Muslims (or anybody) in countries without basic freedoms, especially freedom of speech and a free press are bound to be a lot more screwed up than those living under democracy and the freedoms that we enjoy. I think the corporate oligarchy is a red herring here. Sure, it's real, but that doesn't mean our democracy is zero. We have lots of freedom and power, even if our governments aren't as much "by the people" as they ideally could be. Could you imagine if elections were taken away altogether, if our leaders had no accountability whatsoever, and we didn't have a free press? Muslim or Christian or atheist, we would be a lot less civilized and a lot easier to manipulate to hate the "other". In a nutshell, you can't impose Iran- or Saudi-style Islamic rule on an existing democracy. Western Europe might change, and sure it'll cause discomfort and conflict, but nothing even remotely approaching deserving any of the comments cited in the video.
