TDS: Race Card is Maxed Out

Winstonfield_Pennypacker says...

Nice to see some truth being spoken on this whole race thing. Every once in a while JS gets it right. The Race Card got maxed out a long time ago. Time to pay the balance and put it away to only be used for legitimate emergencies rather than political convenience.

yeah it's moved to the tainted webfolk, who need to use their powers for good and not with what they have been programmed with....Perhaps a drum circle or some recycling...Stop the poison-Plant a tree and watch it grow instead of television-teach your children that information is what you can take in with your 8 senses-smoke more pot, eat more shrooms ,max out your credit cards and refuse all phone calls and correspondence on the matter....

Jim Bunning Blocks Unemployment Extension

peggedbea says...

i got the sack from my job in august, so i spent sometime on unemployment.
heres the deal with unemployment:

1. you're supposed to do a set number of job searches each week, my number was 5, my friends number was 3.. so somewhere between 3 and 5.
you're supposed to keep track of these job searches on a log sheet they provide you, but those are easy enough to lie on and i was on it for months and noone ever asked to see them, they could at any moment i understand but still, easy enough to lie about... or to just randomly call businesses in the phone book, ask if they're hiring and write down who you called and when.. that would count as a job search... even though you aren't honestly trying to get a job.

2. you get 26 weeks of regular unemployment at what is supposed to be 80% of your normal wage, up to $400/wk (it might vary state to state depending on cost of living, not sure). $400/wk is less than 80% of my regular wage so i maxed out at $400/wk. not at all what we were accustomed to living on, i was lucky enough to make decent money before the lay off and had a hefty bit of savings, which i had to break into. not everyone makes enough money to have any savings to speak of. but i was very very grateful for that $400/wk and it kept us afloat.

3. IF your 26 weeks runs out AFTER febuary 20th, you're fucked, that its. no extensions (maybe they fixed that and texas hasn't updated its website). the first tier of emergency extensions was set into place by Bush... extending it another 20 weeks, then obama extended into a second tier going yet another 13 weeks untop of that. are you following the numbers? we're up to 59 weeks. but only if you got laid off before about august 1st 2009 and received no severance package. (i was laid off a week later with a severance package, i wouldn't be eligible for ANY extensions)

4. IF your regular unemployment runs out before febuary 20th , you get tier 1 and 2 extensions, THEN after you use those up, that is to say AFTER you have been on unemployment benefits for OVER 59 weeks, you are eligible for emergency unemployment extensions determined by your individual state, paid for by stimulus moneys. those benefits are the ones set to expire on febuary 27th. the people who are going to be affected by this have been receiving unemployment benefits for WELL over a year.

this is where my mixed feelings come in, i know the economy is really bad, i know there are millions unemployed and there are not enough jobs. i was lucky to find a really awesome job that pays very well, the problem is that instead of working 40 hours a week, im only working 10. so really great hourly wage, very few hours. i'm under employed. im very lucky to be qualified for relatively high paying jobs and im lucky enough to be really really cheap, have had a savings account, a 401k and, if i need it (thank god i havent yet) a wealthy family i could ask for help, i'm not sweating too much. millions are in much worse situations.

BUT unemployment has to end at some point, you can't stay on it forever. especially considering how easy it is to just claim benefits and not actually be looking for a job. the people who are affected the febuary 27th deadline have been on unemployment for well over a year. i don't know when the right time to cut off benefits is. a year seems like plenty of time in an economy that is not in recession. but im not sure about right now.

what they need to be focused on (and maybe they've already done this and i just haven't heard about it) is all the people who lost their jobs after august and are eligible for NO extensions what so ever.

what infuriates me about this is congress seems to just be playing games right now. with EVERYTHING. everything is crumbling, peoples families are falling apart and it seems that on every piece of legislation, on every fucking issue, they're just playing and posturing. they're not getting anything done because of pompous wind baggery and showmanship and reelection campaigns. and it fucking pisses me off! and the only people screaming about anything in my part of the country are the fucking tea bagging dipshits who aren't even pissed off about anything REAL and encourage this kind of political bullshittery. AND IT FUCKING PISSES ME OFF!

RAGE!

soooooo *quality this raging fit and dipshittery.

IT'S ON, BROTHERS AND SISTERS. KULPIMS GETS WHAT'S COMING! (Parody Talk Post)

gwiz665 says...

Why should I waste my time roasting a man whose single greatest accomplishment will be leaving a tiny, bloated corpse in some eastern europe harbor?

I've known Roland for many years now and one thing that really stands out is .. hmm. In any case, since his suicide attempt, after the rape scandal, he has really been on the up and up and has played Mafia Wars on facebook more than anyone else, ever, ever. It's a good thing there's not real social aspect to that, since his "skills" in that aren't quite "maxed out". If you understod that, pat yourself on the shoulder you're in the cool crowd now. We're special.

Roland has no real accomplishments or talents, so it's hard to nail him on something - unlike his "walk in the park" with a 13 year old boy that one fateful evening in 2004 - but I digress. His utter lack of anything has led to a spiral of depression, that we have to stop before it leads to things like drugs and.. I suppose we're to late for that. Well, at least we have to close the borders of Slowenia so the "kulpims syndrome" hit the rest of us. Already, I see posters in here spouting angry things at the moon, crying in their deep psychosis. How could you people start this? @therealblankman I blame you for this atrocity. I would say "a pox on you", but you have to enjoy what little time you have left before the leprecy takes your genitals.

This isn't really a roast, it's an intervention to stop the sadness from spreading. And it's damn near impossible. Already, I'm nearly tearing up from it. I would weep for Roland, because of his sad life, but honestly I just don't care. Maybe, some day he will amount to something, but in that shithole of a country there's little chance for redemption.

Go to America, Roland, go there and improve on your life. Live up to the American Dream of slavery and hardship, increase your weekly salary to almost $10. Go, live, procreate with the wildlife. I believe in you, Jesus loves you, and stay the fuck out of Denmark, you hippie.

My analysis: four gay Vaders attempting to seduce four C-3PO's through the power of dance.

There's more to it than that -- Considering we now know that C3PO was created by little Annie Skywalker and that little Annie Skywalker is Darth Vader, this is sort of like a creator-versus-the-created dance off. It makes sense to me on so many levels. Not to say that these levels are very deep, but they do exist. Sort of like all of the obsessively maxed out characters I leveled in random MMOs...

Everything is both horrifying and quasi-deeply satisfying in the world of pop culture.

Franken Destroys Thune For Playing Loose with Facts on HCR

Nithern says...

56% of WHO? Who was asked, and what were they asked? Who conducted the polling? Fox News?

If I asked people who don't have health insurance, whether getting affordable or free health coverage would be good, I'd get 100%. If I asked old, super-rich, republicans if, poor, uneducated, democrats should get health coverage, 0% would say 'its needed'. So right off the bat, Winstonfield, is arguing not facts, but an arguement he cant prove correct.

The health care bill, does NOT go against the spirit NOR the letter of the prescribed powers of goverment. Maybe Winstonfield could expand on this subject, beyond the one word fear sentence, and provide a few FACTS.

The purpose of the health care bill is multi-level depth and penetration (think metaphorically of a box with an X x Y x Z dimensions to it). ONE, of the many things within the bill, explains how a goverment run health coverage would operated. The costs AND the benefits would go live on day 1. Its all there, for the public to see. And its not a 'top-down, goverment run wealth redistrubtion scheme', as Winstonfield, fearfully thinks. But then, as a republican, Winstonfield (like all other republicans it seems), holds a greater intolerance to fear, then most Americans who are level headed. If you told a republican that the Obama Administration had a plan to outlaw the 2nd Amendment, and then provided flimzy evidence to support it; they would be running to the nearest gun shop, and maxing out their credit and taking a 2nd mortage on their house. No, that's really not an exaggeration. I wish it was, and I was merely talking in jest.

I think Mr. Franken did an excellent job, in presenting the questions and arguements. And that this Mr. Thule should READ and UNDERSTAND the health care bill before opening his mouth.

Casino denies man $166 million jackpot from a slot machine.

MaxWilder says...

Sorry, but that law is crap. If a casino doesn't trust and fully back its gambling equipment, it should not be using that gambling equipment. If they could prove somebody tampered with it to make it pay out, then they might have an argument.

But if a machine that is supposed to max out at 7 digits (99,000.00) can malfunction and show 11 digits (166,666,666.65) then they are simply using the wrong machine. At that point they should have to live with the consequences.

Michael Jackson debuts Moonwalk - 1983 Motown Show

Duckman33 says...

So it's clear there's at least some sort of vocal track playing in the background (in the parts where there's his voice saying something, and he is concurrently opening his mouth and saying something else).
But did michael jackson play live or was it all canned?

ugh, for gods sakes.
When he sings with his vocal track, he maxes out the mic so it distorts. Its clearly live. Plus its 1983...HE DOES IT LIVE!

WRONG! I have heard this song at least 2000 times, this was a lip sync. No-one and I mean no-one can mimic exactly a studio performance when singing live. And this vocal was exactly as the studio recording.

Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's almost impossible to sing and dance like that without it affecting your vocals.
