OH, and because I can't stand the resonate frequency of most of their stuff...heheheheheheh-Le Cargo: Music for ladies with too many cats.

Greetings, Pie. I found another Two Gallants vid, this time from Le Cargo, in Paris:
http://videosift.com/video/Two-Gallants-Broken-eyes
Actually it's only one Gallant, Tyson Vogel is nowhere to be seen, it's only Adam Stephens with his harmonica and acoustic guitar.

Yes, have heard of him. I would need to go and re-listen to see if it's coincidence that I've upvoted all the ones without him and none of the ones with him I think it might be...
- This is the kit
- Merz
- I am Kloot
- The Swell Season
- Melpo Mene
- Alela Diane
As for adding Lisa Hannigan... I didn't really think I needed to! I spent a bit of time doing a playlist though. A few non-folk ones may have crept in along with the borderline ones. Feedback welcome.

Have you guys ever heard of Damien Rice, btw? Lisa Hannigan & him used to be a thing. She features a fair bit on his gorgeous gorgeous album "O".>> ^lampishthing:
And, cough , Lisa Hannigan...>> ^oritteropo:
I feel somewhat underprepared! Since all my favourite performers have at least one vid here on vs already, perhaps a eurofolk playlist is in order? I've been following Le Cargo, since every google search of bands I liked ended up there, and posting my favourite ones here.
For a non-exhaustive list to start, I would recommend these English bands:
And these from the rest of Europe
I welcome any other suggestions, too

Could I request a European folk listening list from you in this thread, oritteropo?
You find some nice stuff.

The Miserable Rich - Early mourning
English indie chamber pop band, based in Brighton. There are a few other vids on the sift.
The info for their Le Cargo session gives their myspace page, http://www.myspace.com/themiserablerich which links to their web site and has a bit of a blurb about the band.
>> ^taranimator:
cool find!! you know anything about these guys?

I updated the description, and found a way to sneak it into the tags too (took out the name of the other girl from tags, and only left it in the description).
I had forgotten that the link between the Le Cargo session and that performance was the venue... this was probably the same day as the Le Cargo recording.
In reply to this comment by calvados:
You are right. Restored!
In reply to this comment by oritteropo:
That's interesting... the only trouble is that a tag search for "marketa irglova" won't show it up now. I only previously knew her as half of The Swell Season, with Glen Hansard... and since it took three searches to find all the clips including her, my vid isn't the only one with tag issues :
In reply to this comment by calvados:
I modified your tags, old son! I felt people should know she's the young lady from the movie 'Once' (which I hadn't known until right now).
Marketa Irglova - Crossroads (live)
That was the version I watched first Then I watched the one I posted, and liked it more. Watching it again now I'm not entirely sure why, but perhaps from the synth drowning out her singing a bit?
Something I had forgotten until I was updating the tags was that the link between the Le Cargo session and that performance was the venue... this was probably on the same day as the Le Cargo recording.

Get Well Soon - We are safe inside while they burn down
The band is called "Get well soon", Le Cargo is the excellent French webzine ("Webzine musicale" as it calls itself) whose youtube channel I've been mining for content... and a rich seam it is too
I'm not the first to observe that between Le Cargo and La Blogoteque all the cool and interesting bands seem to be covered! The two have slightly different focus though, Le Cargo specialises in minimalist "unplugged" acoustic sessions.>> ^Opus_Moderandi:
That was great! Lecargo is the band name? Pardon my ignorance...
(and laziness for not just googling it )
