Exactly what I was about to post. It's a great piece by John Murphy but for the love of <insert name of deity> give it a break already.

It really is a cheap way of stirring up emotions and I doubt the film will be good enough to earn that kind of response in any case.

BTW I noticed Matthew Vaugh's credit there, he used Murphy in Kick Ass so he may have had a say.

Tarrantino's mash-up samples in his flicks are the greatest homage to other director's styles as well, it's what I can appreciate about his work the most...however hackneyed or stale, he mutates enough to stay on the grid, he's frikkin' full-blown and always will be the crazed genius.

A few things strike me about this. First, he's not wearing any gloves, that's pretty intense, but i guess he's got ridiculously calluced knuckles and hands. Secondly and i'm not taking anything away from him kicking ass non-stop for a long time, he's a lot bigger than almost everyone he fights.

This guy reminds me of someone I knew back in what I assume must be Sweden's equivalent to High School.

I'd always thought he seemed like a nice, intelligent and well-adjusted guy, and... then I sat down and spoke to him.

To put it mildly, he shattered my expectations of him.

See, apparently, this guy had figured out (through various prophetic texts as well as the Bible) that there was a huge comet hurtling towards Earth, and that it would surely eradicate all life on the planet if we failed to stop it. Luckily, my (absolutely fucking bat-shit crazy) buddy had it all figured out.

He had three plans; either we simply send up four rockets with a great big rubber net suspended between them, or we pile everybody into Russia and cause the Earth to roll out of orbit, or we take a bunch of atoms, squish them all together, and create a kick-ass and completely impenetrable force field. Obviously, I asked him how the atoms were going to be kept together - after all, atoms are notoriously unwilling to cuddle - and for a moment, this gave him pause. He simply sat there with a frown, looking down at the table between us. Then, his face suddenly lit up with self-congratulatory smugness and, with one arched eyebrow and supreme confidence, he proudly uttered two words:

"Computer chips!"

We didn't really talk much after that.

I enjoyed watching your videogame violence one and your marijuana one too (that was a long one but worth the watch)...I really like how you choose things that promote discussion...I hope there will be many more comments on them.

As for the music...I wasn't sure if you grew up listening to that music or not and if that is why you liked it. Though I like the new stuff, I still have a special fondness for 80's and 90's music because it brings back so many good memories when I listen to it. I still think Pink Floyd kicks ass though, (when I'm in the mood for it).
