60 teens vandalizing and looting Walgreens

What would you do if it was a bolt of lightning that was the cause?

We Didn’t Start the Fire -Billy Joel

We didn't start the fire
It was always burning
Since the world's been turning
We didn't start the fire
No we didn't light it
But we tried to fight it

It's not about throwing money at a problem. It's about giving someone trust, inspiration and recognition.

3) ? You would catch the arsonists before the home owner and their children and not lay blame at their feet. I would let the arsonist burn, locking them inside the house they ignited after saving the family. He's the one with the gas can and lighter if you can't identify who is who.
Calling out wholly inappropriate behavior/speech is never a waste of time. Gaining the trust of racists at the expense of their victims and society as a whole is worse than a waste of time, it's supporting racism.

4) My point. Let them get it, while not allowing your gift to be stolen or misused for harm or other things they get judged harshly for. No judgement, no opportunity for misuse, not just throwing money at a problem, helping a person.

MIDWAY Trailer (2019) -- A WWII Movie

nanrod says...

I'm interested in a new take on the Battle of Midway but this trailer doesn't inspire me. It has the same feel as "Pearl Harbor".

Cart Narcs Catch A Dumb Hag

BSR says...

I think the focus should be aimed toward those who have been injured physically, emotionally and mentally from all forms of violence whether it is natural disaster, crime, abuse, sickness etc. The people who have been broken and have lost hope need to be picked up and repaired and brought back to a better reality of caring and belonging.

Those are the ones who have seen enough of fighting and killing and need to know they are not forgotten. They need to there are good people without anger in there hearts. Someone on their side.

They've seen enough punishment from those who have no answers. Force should be used to save lives, not punish lives, otherwise you are the thing they fear.

Not all bad people are bad. They become afraid or don't know how to get or ask for help. No one wants to look weak.

People need inspiration and the knowledge that they are loved and OK and that their numbers are growing.

I know all this sounds like wishful thinking and fantasy, dreams come true for the good, the bad and the ugly.

All alone, or in two's
The ones who really love you
Walk up and down outside the wall
Some hand in hand
And some gathered together in bands
The bleeding hearts and the artists
Make their stand
And when they've given you their all
Some stagger and fall, after all it's not easy
Banging your heart against some mad bugger's wall

Isn't this where

Dora and the Lost City of Gold - Official Trailer

moonsammy says...

I'd kind of love a PG-13 or R-rated Dora where she still acts exactly like the original show (tons of repetition, asks questions with astoundingly obvious answers, reads the simplest of maps like she's doing calculus in her head, super naive, etc), but everyone else is entirely normal, and reacts to her accordingly. "Swiper, no swiping, Swiper no swiping, Swiper..." "Dora what the FUCK?! He has a GUN, stop saying that shit and give him the key!" They seem to do some of that here (paraphrasing "of course she knows the monkey," "she brought a knife on a field trip"), but Dora also appears slightly to behave semi-normally.

Anyway. I started playing this because I have kids who watched the show some years ago, and I hated having to sit through it. Figured I'd show it to them in an "oh man, can you even believe how awful this looks?" sort of way, and then... it doesn't. It actually looks like a relatively ok, fun movie. RFlagg, I think you're right that the recent Jumanji was a huge inspiration; I doubt this will measure up at all. Oh, and for anyone who hasn't seen Jumanji WttJ, it's actually totally worth watching, with or without kids. Clever writing, and the actors all did a great job with their characters (particularly Jack Black, IMHO).

Most Horrible Busy Commute To Work

newtboy says...

Interesting...I googled it spelled that way before commenting and that didn't show up, only bands and restaurants and suggestions I misspelled. I guess I should have wikied.

I would swallow my own tongue before riding a train that crowded. Never, ever, ever, ever, ever. It's panic inspiring just thinking about it. I left the San Francisco bay area because it was far too crowded, but by comparison it's completely unpopulated.

I could speculate that it's because many European languages (including German) spell it that way? Even in English it was the dominant spelling until the 1890s (at least according to the google NGRA

Re the actual video, it takes a few cancelled trains before my line gets that crowded. It would be interesting to know if this was normal for this line.

Steve Schmidt on Trump 'Stoking And Inciting' Worst Among Us

BSR says...

I'd just like to say "Thank You" to Donald Trump.

I voted today for the first time since I registered during my freshman year in high school back in the early 70s. Back then I registered as a Republican because my parents were Republican.

Since then the Republican party has been hijacked. This time I voted Democrat because I can't stand the smell of bullshit.

Thank you Donald Trump. You've inspired me.

The New York Times Just Hired a Racist

C-note says...

I appreciate this guys video for introducing me to Sarah Jeong. It has inspired me to obtain a modest position of NYT. Among the debris that rambled out of his mouth I did take note of a few points he tried to make.

"they will not stop until they've silence everyone on the right.."
"they hate us, they want us erased.."

On the bright side white male republicans can take comfort in knowing that they comprise the majority of the 30% of americans that own all the guns.

Sadly gun stocks haven't been performing well ever since President Obama left office. (Plays tiny violin)
