Bangarang - Doomtree

evil_disco_man says...

Very good point. I'm just getting into them, and this video is one of their most recent, but they have a solid backlog of stuff (their first album was in 2007). Check out the rest if you're interested. Maybe they back it up, maybe not.

Okay. Upvote first of all. However I am going to dispute rapping a different message if the message doesn't make sense. This was like putting cool words together just because they sounded cool together. I feel there is potential here, but as of yet not realized. *quality

The "One Album Per Sifter" Quest (Rocknroll Talk Post)

Ulrich Schnauss's first album - "Far away trains passing by". An album that well and truly got me hooked on electronica. So soothing, so relaxing, each track an individual journey. Press play, sit back and enjoy...

1. Knuddelmaus

2. Between us and them

3. Passing by

4. Blumenwiese neben autobahn

5. Nobody's home

6. Molfsee

Would totally recommend his later albums - "A strangely isolated place" and "Goodbye" too.

Welcome to the Machine - Animated Film

petpeeved says...

Welcome to the Machine was the very first cassette I ever owned. I still vividly remember sitting in my room pressing play on my boombox for the first time and spending the next few hours just staring off into space listening to it over and over.

I often wonder how different my outlook on life would be if that first album experience was something else. It was that pivotal.

HEAVY METAL PARKING LOT-scene from the 1986 cult classic

Don't forget: Europe - The Final Countdown>> ^poolcleaner:

Let's see -- 1986 -- what did the metal gods deliver us in this year? Queensryche came out with a decent album, Candlemass released their very first album, Metallica's greatest work, Master of the Puppets came out; Iron Maiden had an alright album (not really in any of my top ten lists, but it's Maiden so it counts for something), Tony Iommi's solo album with Glenn Hughes of Deep Purple, Stryper's To Hell with the Devil (Haha, I kid), Dio's Intermission, Slayer's Reign in Blood, Fates Warning's Awaken the Guardian, Megadeth's Peace Sells But Who's Buying, and Judas Priest's Turbo.
It really isn't their fault that they're all so wasted, this year was a powder keg of pure metal madness!

DUDE, "The Wall" is coming out of that dudes face!!! I can't even compute it, these are my music gods.
This takes me all the way back to 5th grade with my Sanyo and a cassette.

i hear ya man.
the WALL was my first album that i bought with my own money.
i was 12 and worked at a neighbors eatery.
i paid 35 bucks for the double album and that was in 1979!
i would sit on the floor in front of the families super hi-tech "realistic" stereo with the speakers on each ear and play this over and over.

The Cars - Just What I Needed - The Midnight Special 1978

Jesus_Freak says...

So, was the notion of Ric Ocasek as lead singer just an elaborate lie all these years? I knew he didn't sing "Drive," but was he not lead back in their first albums?

I sheepishly confess having all of their tapes in the floorboard of my car during high school, from Candy-O to Door to Door.

Avril Lavigne - What The Hell

DubSift- Burial - Archangel

i have been a fan of shinedown for a few years.their first album was amazing.

Yeah, I like this whole CD. Made me listen to their older stuff, all of which I liked. They do one hell of a version of Simple Man.
